Not when it's 20-3...its called not running up the score. I have been around baseball for near 40 years, and was fortunate to play at a very high level, and that is the usual way to handle a blowout. It's not being cocky but trying to ease the pain of a team having a rough day. You also have the players not say a word, but sometimes coaches don't enforce that strong enough either.

Yep, just a good old fashion beating. There were no answers for Cov Cath's hitting today no matter who you threw, just one of those days. Ryle closed to 11-7 and Cov Cath answered right back to close the show. With the big wind blowing out tonight that field was a launching pad, even the dink and dunk hitters were bouncing them off the wall. Don't get me wrong there was some well hit balls but there was a big wind aid there today. Both Maile's and Hempel's don't leave the park on a calm day, but Isler's was more than legit.

Ok, I thought it might have been the Dixie game on Saturday in which I would understand your thoughts. Consistency in the hitting department has been an issue all year. Pitching has been terrific and defense has overall been solid.

No, the district seeding game is on Tuesday.

Curious, but how can you put Conner in front of Ryle? Yes, I am a Ryle fan but they tied earlier in the season and Ryle beat them on Saturday. True, Ryle has 8 losses but 5 of them are to top 15 rated schools in the state and 4 of those were by 2 runs or less.

Ryle comes on strong in the last 3 to 4 innings for the win. Hempel continues his hot streak and Ryle also gets multiple hit production from Lonkard, Carney, Meier, and Etscheid.

Final

Ryle overall played some solid defense last night and Etscheid was on his game. Andy Rogers came in and threw a nice 7th inning. EJ Murray impressed me last night settling down after a rocky 1st and 2nd inning, locking down Ryle's hitters. Both Etscheid's and Murray's curveballs were nasty last night.

For Ryle it has been Dice-K who has come in recently and done a fine job in relief.

Nutini 2-1 92 pitches 4 1/3 innings 29 PA 12 hits 8 runs 8 earned runs 2 walks 3 k’s 1 hbp That means Boone in two days and a total of 10 innings vs Nutini and Etscheid had 27 hits, that is flat out ridiculous. Everyone can disagree all they want but this is the top hitting team in NKY. They have hit well all season and recently have even picked up the pace against two very good pitchers.

Where is TOG's breakdown? I am anxious to hear...

I don't think it would be going out on a limb saying Boone has the best hitting team in the 9th. I saw them put up 15 hits yesterday and it sounds like they kept that hitting attack going today against a pretty darn good pitcher. Not many teams can say that they scored 18 runs in back to back games vs Etscheid and Nutini.

Kyle Donovan continues to impress, giving up 2 earned runs in 6 innings of work. Probably Ryle's best hitting night all year. Cody Meier continue to crush the baseball with 2 more doubles and 3 rbi's. Multiple hit game for Carney, Ryan Donovan, Hempel, and Takeda.

Final

You have a 5-1 ball game and your starter, who has thrown well all game, gives up a walk, a hit batsman, then a triple to make it 5-3. Runner on 3rd no outs and you relieve the starter, thats fine and makes sense. At that point your reliever begins the walkfest mixed in with some singles and the game is out of hand. The problem here was after he walked like 4-5 in row the game was still somewhat within reach, and you could see this young man could not find it. I don't care if you have to bring somebody in from the stands, relieve this young man of his pain and give your team a chance to win. I think after walking the first 4 or 5 there was more than a learning experience, after that only damage can be done. Everyone needs to put yourself in the shoes of the young man and the family that had to sit there and watch him go through this nightmare, after all this is high school baseball. I imagine that his father was none to happy with what transpired.:irked:

Ugly, ugly game... You can ruin a player by doing what the Cooper coach did tonight to that young man. I started to feel a little sick to my stomach for him and his family.
