Horrible Job of Officiating !!!!!!
I try to watch as many games as I can and it seems to me that many umpires are very inconsistent with calls in general especially balls and strikes. I like to see a good game where inside and outside corners are called along with knee to letters strikes. I guess that s still the strike zone, but you NEVER know that by the way a lot of umpires call the games now adays. Maybe they should have schools and make it mandatory to attend to be able to call games. As stated before I just wish that there could be a little more consistency in the GAME that we all love so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
He pitched both 2 years that Ramsy was pitching coach and Drew has been pitching coach this is his third year so that would have been his 7th grade year and 8th grade year 2004 and 2005 against Fairview! As far as Greenup last year Grizzle started followed by Phillips then Wilson in the Last 2 innings I think!

Best Manager/Coaches in the 16th Region?
Bobby Trimble, or Drew Hall as the head coach, I've been told that Bobby would consider it but not as a 2nd fiddle but as the Head Coach, and as for Drew Hall he could probally bring a lot, lot more to the table than he does now I just think he doesn't want to step on toes. He is very close to the Reds upper management and has said he could get a lot of stuff donated to use as fund raisers. So maybe even donations for the field too, just speculating on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I dont want you to think I am bad mouthing Hoof but I dont want baseball to get shorted.

Best Manager/Coaches in the 16th Region?
I wish they would!!!!!! I cannot speak for them but I would say that they don't want to take a chance on splitting their money!!!!!I think Randy Morris and the Darby would be a great help to the program, but My opinion doesn't really matter, but all the schools BIG SCHOOLS the are good year in and year out has a lot of help, and thats what we need to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Empty Spots for 16th Region Teams?
I think Paul Lewis has done a lot for a bunch of kids in this area and finally got a lot of outsiders to look at the talent that is in this area!!!! He has got a lot of kids into or at least a good look from colleges that may not have given a second look otherwise. Several kids from his post teams are in school that probally would not have been if it wasn't for him. In reality that is what it is all about. I really don't think we have much of a chance of winning the districts when you think about the teams that have something going year round for the kids and then what we have 2 or 3 months to compare to BUT I will still back the Rams all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Manager/Coaches in the 16th Region?
On this I will totally agree with you as far as the Darby and Morris guy and the AABC. I know that the morris guy has offered to help the high school at different times but its was like they didn't want any help! I would like to see a lot more interest in the Worthington program. The thing about Hoof was this, over the last couple of years he has had spring football going on while baseball pactice was going on and was with the football team while the baseball team was working out, now he is helping with the girls basketball which takes away too! I think a lot of hoof but time means a lot when working with this bunch and he does not have a lot of it! They have 10 or 11 coaches on the football team and 2 or 3 for baseball.

Empty Spots for 16th Region Teams?
I think if you talk to the coaches in the area, Greenup, Ashland, Boyd, Russell and even Post 76 coach Paul Lewis you would see what I am saying, Which is I think he will pull more than his load, the big question is will anyone else maybe your kid step up? Carver,Martin probally will. As far as depth in pitching they have Wilson, Reynolds, Keeton, Mckee as starters with possibly 1 or 2 more filling in.

Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
Bassmaster in the 7th grade year Wilson pitched against Fairview in which he faced the catcher, I forgot his name but I believe he was Bialess or something and the pitching coach was Gavin Ramsy for the first 2 years he pitched 7th and 8th grade years I believe! I'll check it out for sure, so do you remember that?

Empty Spots for 16th Region Teams?
Every year the Wilson kid has pitched key district games for the Rams and has won a lot probally as much as any on the Ram staff (not sure) so how can you say that he has not done it yet?
-
Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
Bass master; You must not attend very many Ram games The Wilson kid has pitched on the Varisity team since the 7th grade all the way thru and has pitched in key District games every year since I have been following and from what I hear he does very well during summer and fall ball as well. I was told from a coach that he has a Junior Legion STATE championship with 2 wins in the State Tournment as well , so how can you say that he has not shown it?

Are the coaches allowed to start conditioning, as far as running and weight lifting? I was told that you cannot officially throw baseballs until Feb.15 but most everyone that I spoke to said that they could not believe we had not started weight lifting and running before this past week.

Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
Gcguard-who do you think could possibly shut Greenup down? Just wondering you said that you thought Raceland could do it or at least that is what I thought you said. Do you think the Rams have a pitcher to shut Greenup down?

Feb 15 2008
The only conditioning they are doing right now is what a few of the players are doing on their own, getting together about 4 or 5 or so and running and trying to go out and hit BUT it is not by any direction from any coaches or any of that the boys are ready to go and got tired of waiting on the COACHES to start something, I know this for a fact.

Best Manager/Coaches in the 16th Region?
I would hate to see what would happen in Ramland if they took BASEBALL half as serious as they do Football, Hoof is a great guy but I think he needs to step down and give some other people a shot that really wants to take this program to the next level. We have had several good players over the years and several have said that we need to move forward.

Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
I think all the Teams in the area have a good chance, with all the teams having some very good players, and I agree that we are all very balanced and should be a very competitive season for all the teams, on any given day any team can beat any other team!

Feb 15 2008
Not sure Boyles is even going to play but there were several other players that stepped up after all the problems in the early season and all the lineup changes. The RAM COACHING STAFF has not started anything at all with this years TEAM, NO meetings, conditioning or anything. This will put us way behind the other Teams in the Area because I know all the other teams have been working out for a while so I know we are already behind!!!!!!!!!
-
Feb 15 2008
The Rams Coaching staff has yet to even start conditioning or anything!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that will just make it harder for our boys to compete early. I think ALL the other Teams in the area has been conditioning for some time so I feel we are already behind.

Is Peyton Martin getting D1 baseball offers?
Peyton is a great kid who should get a chance to play at the next level! He does need a stronger arm but I still think he should get a chance to play at the next level. I have heard him say his arm hurts a little but if a college coach gets ahold of him I'm sure he could correct this quickly. That is really his only problem which can be fixed!

Post 76 Junior Team
Yesturday Post 76's Junior Team WON the State Title for the Junior Legion Tournment in Owensboro, Ky. The TEAM went thru the Field UNDEFEATED with what started out the year as a good roster of about 18 to 20 Quality Players from the area but ended as 11 or 12 players who really wanted to play the GAME!!!!!!!!!Paul Lewis put together this TEAM as well as the older LEGION TEAM which he also Manages/Coaches. I think his efforts has finally paid off with this STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this is the 1st in HISTORY and one well deserved!!!!!!!! :flame:

16th Region Players on 2007 KY All-Star Teams(Senior and Junior)
I have stated very early on this year that I thought that Greg Logan was the best in the area and I still think so, being at a school for 20 + years does not really IMO make you a Hall Of Fame Coach it is what you do with the talent you have. Greg does what it takes to WIN time wise and if needed he will spend his own money to give the boys what they need, and spend as much time as needed, GREAT JOB this year and best of luck.:thumb:
