Does Barr pitch? Is he really that good behind the plate? Did he throw a lot of kids out? Batting average?

I don't know if he is a pitcher or not, but he is a catcher and thats what we need the most! I,ve heard that he beat Billy Logan out of a position on a traveling team! So with that being said he is going to be a BIG plus especially if he can hit like Billy too. Plus if we get the Rister kid that would be a help!!

I think we MIGHT be OK on pitching just depends on injuries etc. We never really lost a starter or a full time pitcher from last year 2 Senior spot filled and helped out a little BUT the most of the team is still there.

For pitching? Thats where we need the help! Maybe you know more than I do about it! I'm not saying we don't need him, we just need the pitching help!

RAM, What I said was there are people out here that would help, have helped and continue to help but when you replace someone like Drew Hall with a football coach when there are other people available I think there is a problem!!!!!!!!!!I think Randy is a GREAT person and does a lot for the Hole area, But the people that play BASEBALL are getting SHORT changed! We have good baseball people out here in our area that is willing and ready to help IF THEY WERE ASK! I have talked to coaches and other people(ADMIN) about this BUT nothing has Happened! SO with that being said for YOU to say what you DID is WRONG maybe YOU should LOOK at BASEBALL as a sport as you do football! Tim Nelson was available and said at one time he would LOVE to come here and HELP and the ADMIN and Coached were told be nothing did or has happened! I would LOVE to See BOBBY TRIMBLE help with the team! Anyone with BASEBALL Knowledge and knowhow will be a help! The more the better! I think the deal with the football coach replacing Drew, with other people being available, not saying we don't want his help because we do just replacing Drew??????

Have they had a team in the past or is this their first year? How many kids are on the team?Haven't heard from them in the past, just wondering.

We could get a coach that would concentrate on baseball as well, BUT our coach choose to do both, why do you think we can't keep good assistants? Because they go to places that are willing to work on BASEBALL! Why do you think that we hired another FOOTBALL COACH to help with BASEBALL instead of getting someone who works onBASEBALL? I know that several other teams in the area are already conditioning and working out to get in shape, BUT our boys can't even get gym time to run or lift!!!!!!!!WHY?????????Why doesn't our BASEBALL program get any help???????I see tax dollars going to the school system as a hole!!!By admission the school puts forth more effort to football, so if we are not going to give baseball as much effort why waste the boys time?

Duval for sure and the other Ashland pitcher is Chase Adkins I think that is his name.

I hear that the transfer beat out another GOOD local catcher on one of the traveling teams out there, does anyone know anything about this? I really think the RAMS will be OK this year, we have a lot of talent coming back but will the coaches be able to pull it all together with Drew being gone and another FOOTBALL coach replacing him? I think that Coach Hoof needs to start accepting some of the Local help that has been offered to him so we could maybe be able to compete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I know for a fact Steve Darby is ready to help and I feel thats what we need along with what we already have in place, I really cant see why we cant take the BASEBALL team seriously! I would really like to see what would happen if we did!Once again I think Greenup will be the team to beat, I LOVE the way GREG LOGAN puts forth all his efforts and resources to work for GREENUP, that just goes to show what happens when people step up to the plate! We have the same effort but it is all towards FOOTBALL!

Doesn't anyone want to comment on this? I figured some of you guys would have a lot to say about this! Surely SOMEONE has to be willing to give a opinion on this!

I heard about a KID whose eligability might be in Question, so I thought I would raise the Question here. A kid started at a school this year went for about a week or 2 and transferred to another school for about 2 weeks then transfered back to the orginal school, would this effect his eligability for playing this upcoming season considering he is a senior? No move was involved, and with the KHSAA taking so much flack over the Lawrence County deal lets hear this!!

Congrats, How hard does he throw, what kind of pitches does he have?

Post 76 plays a very competitive schedule every year! When kids play at this level they should already know the game, this should be used to hone their skills and to be seen by any other teams or colleges. This is not IMO a baby sitting thing, but most kids improve somewhat just by playing better competition and being with older kids who want to play at another level! In fall ball kids play BECAUSE they LOVE the GAME and not any other reason!

Curtis Lowe- Ashland Post 76 can always use help, Paul does a great job trying to work with you when your kid plays football as well.

I think that seeding should be put in and used due to the fact some coaches don't play to finish good in the District they just wait for the Districts, if seeding was in they might try to Win to improve their record!

Final from Morehead.

Do you think Greenup will even pitch Heiny, also I heard Wilson has been sick lately!

I know for sure that Rigsby walked at least 1 or 2 in the game! Good game on both sides both sides played hard.

Bobbyearl, The Kid that was pitching from BOYD COUNTY was the one who said the WRONG TEAM WON TODAY!!!!!!!!

I for 1 would like to say THANKS GOOCH for attending the RAMS game I think its great to see kids coming back and supporting the SCHOOL and the RAMS after you leave! Some who post items on here do not attend very many games and do not see things that are going on! Do you think that the JV FOOTBALL TEAMS are told tthat they are not expected to WIN? I have heard that EXACT WORDS from our JV COACH! We have 1 new JV Coach this year and 1 returning from last year, the new coach which we all know is a great person and really cares about KIDS, ALL KIDS, which he DOES NOT have on the team! He encourages all the kids to play to the best of their ability and to hustle, he also gives the MVPs of the games things such as batting gloves, bats ect. This to to encourage the kids to compete and to play as hard as possible! We have a lot of people in OUR area that would be thrilled to help BUT noone will ask especially HOOF. We have had GREAT YOUTH PROGRAMS in the past BUT they are not there now! I think that this year is the first of many that you can see or will be able to see whats really going on with the Baseball program. Anytime a negative comment is made about HOOF the first thing that you hear is HALL OF FAME COACH, well lets ask a question, what determines a HOF Coach? Wins, how long they are in that position, what? Never have I or as far as I know ever said anything about HOOF as a person, he is a GREAT person and a positive role model for the kids. Several kids on the TEAM this year have ask to SHAKE THINGS UP A LITTLE with the lineup and were told NO! WHY? Things are not going that GREAT now so WHY NOT?

Good game RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LL Cool J You hit the nail on the head!!!!!!!! Just more likely that it will be a little better job!!!!!!!!!!!!!: I just think umpires from another region not in the game would be better!!!!!!thumb:

Why not pay the Umpires more money to travel to other district games, and maybe more qualified and better umpires would do these games? I felt the balls and strikes were pretty consistent on both sides but the fantom foul that hit the front of the plate and shot up in the air was one of the wildest calls I have seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both runners advanced to second and third one out, it just took us out of what could have been a really BIG inning and cost us at least 1 maybe 2 runs. Both teams played really well and both teams was ON. You HATE to see 1 or 2 bad calls take a game over and for it to end that way!!!!!!!!!!

Why can't umpires be brought in from another region or area? The game was delayed 30 minutes because of one umpire not showing up!!!!! And then for the game to be called the way it was------WOW. One of our parents talked to one of the pitchers parents and he even admitted the mistakes. I just don't see how umpires can go home making these kind of calls and costing ANY team a shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The pitching was really good, and very few hits just a real good game with the exception of the umpires, and I really do think someone should be SMART enough to bring in outside umpires for these kind of games and for even District games, BUT really a good game on BOTH teams part and I wish Paintsville GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you think the RAMS could have won the game if they had started one of their other more experienced pitchers? I heard they had a underclassman pitch the game, were they saving the other pitchers? Matt is a quality pitcher and always does a good job against the RAMS, I would have liked to see one of our better pitchers throw to try to get the WIN going into Paintsville Tuesday! We always like to beat Fairview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
