  1. Obviously, Rom was on his game tonight. But it is always good to hear about the other teams pitcher that only gave up one run in a complete game effort as well. Great job Mr. Brooks!
  2. Thanks! Brooks pitched against Cov Cath earlier in the year. Very good young pitcher!
  3. I believe Luke is catching at Yankee Stadium tonight. I got that from a pretty solid source.
  4. Come tournament time St. Henry will be a tough draw for any team with Haddle on the mound.
  5. Chris Coleman was my son's physical therapist after his labrum surgery. DR. Bilbo did the surgery. So Commonwealth did the surgery but we used St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine to do the rehab. We did some asking around and Chris Coleman was highly recommended by several "baseball" people. I can't imagine that you could do much better than Chris.
  6. Over the last 25 years I have rebuilt close to 200 totaled vehicles. If you are careful, buying a water damaged vehicle can be no problem. I have seen water damaged cars that did not even get the carpets wet. I have also seen some that were totally submerged. When you look at a vehicle at the salvage auction it is pretty easy to see how high the water got on the vehicle. You can also tell what type of water it was in. The highest point that the water got to there will be a very distinct line. The key for a buyer would be if you trust the person that rebuilt the vehicle to be honest about how high the water was in the vehicle. Maybe you know the rebuilder or can get references. I have found that most (NOT ALL) people that rebuild these vehicles do not want to get a bad reputation because it makes it harder to sell future vehicles. If you are not a car guy, it is a good idea to take it to a shop to have it inspected. When a car is totaled and put into a salvage title it is more of a financial statement of the car than whether or not it is repairable. Insurance companies use computer programs to do estimates on cars. They use time and shop hourly rates. Sometimes they use retail price of new parts from the manufacturer. All of these things can add up very quickly to reach the 70% threshold that it takes to consider a vehicle totaled. That is state law. So if a 10,000 dollar vehicle has an estimate to repair of 7000 dollars, it has to be put in a salvage title. By using used or aftermarket parts, being quicker than the time rate and cheaper than the labor rate a rebuilder may be able to repair the car for less than half of the estimate. That is why a totaled salvage vehicle can be repaired and then put into a rebuilt titled vehicle. Some other things to consider, you CANNOT get a loan on a vehicle while it is in a salvage title. You CANNOT register, get a plate or insure a vehicle that is in a salvage title. Once a vehicle is repaired and the proper process is completed a salvage title CAN be converted to a rebuilt title. Once a rebuilt title is issued, you CAN register it and get a license plate. You CAN insure it at that time. It is also state law that insurance companies have to allow you to at least carry liability on the vehicle, but they DO NOT have to allow full coverage on the vehicle although most will. If the insurance company allows you to carry full coverage, if you total the vehicle they may not pay out full value on the vehicle. I carry stated value coverage on my own vehicles. Banks WILL NOT loan money on a salvage title. Once in a rebuilt title some banks will loan money but MOST will not. When calling about loans, insurance and registering a vehicle it is very important to use the correct term, salvage or rebuilt.
  7. I did some homework for myself. Drew Rom was on his game for sure tonight as you pointed out. Great game Drew and congratulations on you announcement to attend Michigan. Very strong accomplishment! Jackson Haddle pitched a complete game (8 innings) for St Henry. He held Highlands scoreless through 7 innings while only giving up 6 hits and striking out 6. When Haddle is on the mound, hits and runs are tough to come by. While I was not at this game, I think both Drew and Jackson deserve a shoutout for their pitching performance tonight!
  8. That should help put Casteel's performance in perspective. And it really came down to 1 bad pitch. Great game by the young lefty!
  9. St. Henry must have had some good pitching too. Any word on who pitched for the Cru?
  10. That is the kind of play that should send you back to the minors, if not out of the league all together. And how about the no slide into second on what should have been a sac bunt. I will stick to watching high school and college baseball. At least those kids give an A plus effort on every play. If they don't, they WILL be replaced.
  11. Bailey is pitching very well right now. He has always been a very good pitcher but it looks to me like he took it up a notch or two.
  12. That made me smile! Thanks for sharing.
  13. Great news!!! Congrats to AJ and his family. Seems like a perfect situation. Kid is a winner!
  14. I get to see Clay pitch in the summer. He is very crafty and mixes speeds very well. He is also a very good catcher. I think his experience behind the plate makes him understand what it takes to be a good pitcher.
  15. You are correct. Andrew Daria was in the lineup for Dixie.
  16. Casteel has been very impressive as a starting pitcher so far. His future is very bright! Evan Stallman is another sophomore that has looked really good in relief.
  17. No first hand knowledge, but I hear that he is not playing.
  18. I can tell you what they are not spending the money on...the field. It is beyond horrible. Frankly, it is a safety concern.
  19. Yes, first game. Not an excuse, Conner played and pitched very well.
  20. Coach Michels brother Vince passed away. The entire Michels family is very generous to Cov Cath with not only their time but also with services from Michels Construction. Simply put, just a great family!
