Just to be clear...I am not being critical of any portion of what Beechwood is doing. Just putting it out there for discussion.

Pitchers and catchers hate playing on turf. I was just talking to a turf maintenance guy from The Motz Group. His advice was that if you are going with turf for your baseball field to go with dirt on the mound and around homeplate. He said those 2 areas, along with the goalie spot for lacrosse are high maintenance and the most patched areas on any turf field. I believe UC's turf field has dirt mound and homeplate, and maybe around the bases.

Will the mound and homeplate area be turf or dirt?

Cody, Shrand and Casteel. All of them pitched well. Casteel, the Frosh, was lights out in the 7th. He will be fun to watch for the next 3 years.

What is Jarod's last name? Clay Trusty is very solid behind the dish. Beechwood has another freshman catcher that is as good or maybe better in Dylan Doverspike.

Pius was well represented for sure IHM was also well represented this year. At times this year it was an all IHM infield for the Colonels with, Bowman catching Coldiron at 3rd Blank at shortstop Kyle at 2nd Jones at 1st.

Cov Cath beat Boone County. I believe it was 12 to 4. Championship Game is Beechwood vs Cov Cath at 7 at Dixie. Game may be moved up depending on the weather.

I believe Cramer started went 3 innings. Colonels scored 5 in the 1st inning. I was not there, so if that information is wrong please don't shoot me. LOL

Hopefully a Highlands poster can give us the name of their pitcher. He threw a heck of a game and NKY baseball people should learn his name. He is going to give opponents problems for the next 3 years. Great game young man!

Both teams starting pitchers went the distance and were absolutely awsome. Cov Cath had 2 hits and I believe highlands had 1. Sean Casteel pitched for the Colonels and Nolan ??? pitched for the birds. Evan Stallman also had an awesome game catching for the Colonels. He Had 2 strike em out throw em out double plays.

Covington Catholic defeats Boone County. Covington Catholic plays Highlands Tuesday at 5 at Covington Catholic I believe. Highlands has won the first two meetings this year.
