^I agree as well. Colby is very talented and could make a great college quarterback but not at the high D-1 level, and I'm not trying to knock the kid at all.

I think this rule just promotes the idea of holding kids back for sports. When I graduated highschool, I was 17 and turned 18 a month after graduation, while my friend was almost 20 years old (he was an all state football and basketball player)! Give any athletic kid a two year jump on other kids in their grade and I almost guarantee they will be better.

Thats understandable. We just don't see the speed of a Louisville Male on a yearly basis......heck, even on a decade by decade basis.

I think it can be done as well. There have been too many teams come close (Breathitt, Boyle, Danville) to fall short in the end. I agree with the other posters that it will most likely happen in the 1-3A divisions if it does happen.

I'd say Breathitt Co. will be there as well. We have attended this camp for the last 10-12 years.

Doesn't Fern Creek have a highly touted quarterback? Did Breathitt Co. look impressive in their games or did they have a tough time each game?

Does anyone know how Breathitt County finished at this camp?

Breathitt Co. vs. Middlesboro is/was an excellent rivalry. There have been some butt spankings on both sides and some sensational close games as well. There is no love lost between these two schools. Breathitt Co. and Belfry/Prestonsburg are both equally good rivalries. Whenever Breathitt and Belfry/Prestonsburg play, you can guarantee there will be some intense play, hard hitting, and a lot of emotion showed on the field.

I can assure you that Breathitt Co. is good enough and deserves to be in this tournament.

Breathitt Co. has a really neat entrance. Instead of walking straight out of the fieldhouse about 10 yards onto the field, they march single file underneath the stadium. All the fans gather round and slap the players on the shoulderpads or helmets as they walk by, and offer support for the players........it sounds really cool also, the cleats on concrete sound. As the team nears the gate for the field they begin to run on the field and huddle around the goal post jumping around all excited and stuff. As the team breaks the cannon goes off and the players sprint to the sidelines, surround Coach Holcomb, and get the same break always - two handclaps "BREATHITT", two handlclaps "PRIDE", and two handclaps "BEAT (Whomever we were playing)".........as a former player it made me so pumped to do that entrance before every home game.

What kind of teams do LCA, Prestonsburg, and Lawrence have this year?

Anyone heard anything about who Breathitt Co. will be playing this year? And does anyone know who is in the new district alignment with them?

Are the locker rooms located under the stands or somewhere else adjacent to the field?

The best game that I have ever seen in person was the 1995 AA state championship game between Breathitt Co. and Franklin Simpson. Franklin Simpson and Breathitt Co. both had quite a few college players, with some from each team going to UK. Breathitt rallied late in the game to tie it at 28 all. Both teams scored in the first overtime. In the second overtime Breathitt had the ball first and scored on their 4th down on a sliding catch in the back right corner of the endzone. Breathitt then forced a fumble on FS's possesion to claim their 1st state championship in any sport in school history.
