Okay since Bellevue has beaten Villa and it looks like Villa will make the region..........why does "that" district need to be seeded but not the Villa district?

Having a "good team" and being invited does not equate. However the small school tourney was a very good frosh tourney. Calvary knocked out Walton in the consolation game 46 -42 and Newport defeated Beechwood in the championship. Best game of the tourney was the Newport 80 Augusta 60 game. No that is not a misprint................

uh....Bellevue lost to Newport in the All A................Bellevue has a nice team and can play well together as a unit.

Speaking of Augusta's frosh...........Saw them play Newport tonight and even though they lost they put up close to 60 points and are very talented!

Bellevue has hosted a small school A tourney the past 2 years. This year the following are playing in it: Bellevue Latin (jv squad) Ludlow Augusta Walton Calvary Heritage Newport Guaranteed 2 games............Final four is Latin Ludlow Newport and Augusta

Again when a school goes to vote it is not the job of the AD to worry about how it will affect others only his school. Honestly fo you think Dayton cares if they vote to seed or not seed (ony using them as an example) how it affects Boone or Connor?????

I think it is a far more fair system than seeding for small schools.

HDE again programs that vote against seeding are doing what is best for their schools. It is not their job to meet some arbitrary standard you have decided upon. It is also not their fault they are put in a position of having to play schools much larger than they are in the district tourney (yes although NCC is in the All A they are still roughly double the 10 - 12 enrollment of both Dayton and Bellevue). Yeah I don't think anybody is going to argue that Bellevue's and dayton's talent is inferior to Highlands a 5 A school in football with those two being two of the smallest A schools in the state. Bellevue and Dayton could combine enrollment and would still be smaller than Newport, NCC and HIghlands.

Well Plato fortunately or unfortunately your vote doesn't count so.......until the KHSAA classifies basketball you are going to have this. Lets look at another district. Beechwood would have a real shot at a Class A regional championship but now with the district they are in they are screwed.

MC we are in agreement that the system is screwed up. And yeah I understand that neither team is as good as the other three. That is why they take their chances on the draw which by the way this draw doesn't happen very often!

Well considering under the current system yeah they should since they will be either district runner up or district champ. Now I agree that the class system is far off because of money but then that doesn't excuse the class system from going into play in lets say....baseball. And even though it is a "pie in the sky" argument it does not mean it is not the right thing to do....and it is the right thing to do. Financially also the small schools never get a piece of the regional money. Look just to the 10th where ALL schools share in the regional money.........Now money isnt the only object here but when a Highlands or NCC can guarantee themselves an extra 5,000 for the athletic budget every year by seeding and the other schools can guarantee they will never see that money....well.......maybe if they won't go to classes the 'big" schools could learn to be more equitable much like in the 10th

Malaichi why do I have to forget about classes in basketball. That is like me saying you need to forget about everybody seeding. Schools need to do what is best for their school. It is not the job of Dayton or Bellevue to do what is best for Highlands and it is not the job of a Highlands or NCC to do what is best for Dayton and Bellevue. Hence you have the voting. You seem very bitter about this............

While we all have our differences between the private and public Bishop Brossart runs a clean program......much cleaner than many of the public schools in the area. Realizing that I am not a fan of the private school dominance in the All A I give the BB's credit for doing things the right way.

Fair? Since when is it fair for a school of 100 boys to play a school of 500 or 700 boys? Yeah it is easy to criticize but if you have classes then this would not be an issue.

Yes in this district NCC and Highlands will always want to seed while the other three would not.........Why would they vote to seed? It makes no sense to do that

Once again I am not.....The schools vote to either seed or blind draw and that is what they vote to do. Now I agree that it would be better to seed but if that is the choice the district makes that is what it is

Enrollment does determine the conference.........The Conference tries to keep a balance of teams between the 3 divisions so that one division doesn't have too many teams. As far as conferences go this is the ellite conference in the state........

Beechwood was the Brennan girl.........

The redraw was voted down by the participating teams. It was a close vote. I know it was something like 5-3 or 5-4. I only saw one night but it was a great tourney
