  1. What was the score of the first game between Scott and Silver Grove???
  2. with 2 out nelson hit a double, pretty deep shot. CF was playing pretty shallow, maybe should of been caught. Then Deming elected to pitch Silver Groves #4 hitter who already had 3 rbi's (Davidson). Davidson then hit a 2 run bomb. Both teams had their share of errors. But Silver Grove came up with the hits when they needed them. Deming scored 4 of their 6 runs on Silver Grove errors. Deming is a very good team. They will win many games this year and surprise some teams. Davidson for the Grove is a top notch pitcher and hitter. Whenever he is on the mound for the Grove they can be dangerous. Big win for the Grove. 2 All A finals in the last 3 years. Not bad for a school who only has 34 males in the entire Hs. Good luck to the Grove in the final.
  3. Davidson collected his 3rd homerun today in All A and 5 more rbi's. Nelson had 2 more hits.
  4. Heck of a game for the Grove! They were led by senior captains Donnie Davidson and Nick Nelson. Nick was 2-3 with a big double in the 6th with 2 outs and then Davidson hit a 2 run blast (#3 of the year) over the center field fence for his 4th and 5th rbi of the game. Davidson pitched a complete game giving up 2 earned runs and 13K's.
  5. Donnie Davidson for Silver Grove has got off to a hot start. 2 HR (highlands and Brossart) and 10 RBI's. CF Nick Nelson is hitting over .500.
  6. Silver Grove starts an 8th grader and 2 fresh.
  7. Is Jones the younger kid (soph?) who played SS for them last year? He plays for Midland? I think he was #24. if so he is the real deal!!
  8. Donnie Davidson Silver Grove. Throws in the low 80's with a good curve. He has been playing varsity baseball since the 7th grade. More people would be talking about him if he were playing for a bigger school.
  9. Verst is a great kid! He loves the game, he will give you 110% at all times. A very solid player! But not a great pitcher! Good curve ball and an average fastball. He will keep batters off balance. But the better hitting teams will hit him. If he is throwing against all the #1's in Northern Ky. he will not be 6-0 this year. I hope he has a great year on the mound, but from what I saw last year I give the nod to Adams, Woodruff, Adkins and still a couple more of 10th region pitchers over Verst. But that being said it is going to come down to who plays the better defense. Verst will keep Brossart in many games because he is a smart pitcher. But it will be up to his defense and offense to win for him.
  10. I've seen Adams throw many times with his pitching coach. There is not a kid in northern ky that works harder than him! Even when he was injured he was still working with his pitching coach on how to get batters out. If he is healthy this year Scott will be extremely tough to beat! Woodruff vs. Adams will be a great match up. But Adkins vs. any #2 pitcher CCHS has is a mismatch that will go in the favor of Scott.
  11. It must be nice to have a school that has over 800 guys to choose from. We have a total of 35 guys in the entire school!!! Many of them never have played a day of baseball in their life. So we will start the season with only 3 guys practicing and when basketball season is over we hope to have 11-12 guys play this year. So when coaches complain that they only have enough players for a full varsity and jv squad, just think it could be MUCH worse.
  12. He did as a fresh/soph, I can't remember with who. His wrist was bothering him this past summer so he choose not to play. http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/ubb/confused.gif
  13. Another sleeper might be Davidson for Silver Grove. He is throwing in the low to mid 80's and he has been working all winter with the same pitching coach as Scott's Zac Adams (Scott Wiggins).
  14. How did Scott's Fresh team stack up against CCHS and Brossart last spring? Just wondering how Scotts JV will be this year.
  15. How did the fresh/jv teams do in the 37th district last year? Who has the better underclassmen between Scott, CCHS and Brossart?
  16. Donnie Davidson. Best outing of the year for him. Complete game 3 earned runs.
  17. very good game! 3-1 until late in the game. You have to tip your hat to the smallest high school in the state!!! :thumb:
  18. dont count out the big trains vs. the camels. If I am not mistaken Silver grove gave scott and brossart a better game then CCHS did:sssh:
  19. 11 base on balls by grover pitchers did not help!!
  20. \ By the way the Big Trains still did not use thier #1 in the Brossart game!!!!! Maybe holding him out for the St. Pat game?????
