Brossart 5 Scott 3

Featured Replies

Nathan Mutsch pitched for the Mustangs while Aaron Bush pitched for the Eagles.

I heard Scott had a couple of defensive lapses that cost them this ball game. Was not able to attend, but sounds like a good one.

Good game under pretty good conditions.

Both teams suffered a couple of miscues but Brossart outhit the Eagles 8-5 and put them in bunches in the three run Mustangs fourth inning when we went ahead for good at 4-1.

Both pitchers threw nice complete games:

Mutsch allowed one earned run on five hits while striking out 11 and walking 2.

Bush allowed five runs (don't have earned or unearned info), 8 hits, 5 Ks, and one walk.

Both teams stranded 7 baserunners.

Scott had a man on first and there was a fly out to center where Brossarts center fielder dropped the ball for the third out; the runner on first scored for Scott which brought them to three runs. As I remember, that was probably the most defensive lapse of the game. Can't remember too many defensive lapses that would of cost Scott the game. Offense is finally showing up to help the pitching for Brossart.

Big district win for the Mustangs, now 3-0 in the district.

Once again, was not at the game, going from what i heard, maybe i should check my sources.

Bush just can't get over the hump against Brossart. Didn't they beat him 2 times last year? or did he split 1-1 against them.

He went 1-1 agaisnt them last year complete game shut out the first time and all down hill since.
