I agree. I didnt say that they dont. I just said that Elliott does Because I havent seen the other schools play but I have seen Elliott Play.

I would like to here some thoughts of everyone on how you feel about Tubby leaving UK for Minnesota. I personally feel that we are going to have a hard Time finding a great coach come to Kentucky due to the stress of the Kentucky Job. I would have rather seen some staff members be replaced such as recruiting staff, But I dont think that Tubby would have went for that either since he is so loyal to his staff members,

I really dont know anything about Warren Central but I think that Elliott will be hurt By Timmy Knipps injury last night. He is really there only hieght and he is one of the best shooters on the team. Even If they had him I still think that Warren Central should win the Game but Elliott's determination and will may have something to say about that.

I was at the game and one of the main reasons the foul count was so far off was because shelby valley started fouling at the 4 minute mark left in the fourth quarter. Everytime that ethan faulkner touched the ball inside 4 minutes to go in the game he was fouled. I think this might have been a strategy due to the inconsistency of his free throw shooting all though he made aalmost all of his free throws last night. I thought that there was some bad calls against elliott county as well. That is just the way it goes. the refs are always going to do there best and one side will always complain. usually the losing side.

What I get from this qoute above is that you are saying that all the soph's right now that are old enough to be juniors, we would not think that they are as good if they were in there junior years playing the same way that they do right now. That we think that they are better than they are because they are soph's. I think that no matter what class these kids are they would be elites. Lets say that the faulkners from elliott were seniors. I dont think that people would be saying that they are not as good as the other seniors or that they are not elite players for seniors. IMO it doesnt matter what class you are in, If you are an elite player then you are an elite player as a varsity player, not because you are an elite player just in the 11 grade class or just in the 10grade class. This is just My opinion though.

You know all this bickering back and forth really isnt going any where. I think that the post was to see what kids are playing now that are actually older than the grades they are playing in. as for the Qoute above, I thought that you are from the 16th region. IMO you are one of the people that make the 16th region get looked down upon by allot of other regions. Why can we all not just back what ever team comes out of the region that we are from and if we do not want to back them dont start talking bad about them because they are representing all of the 16th region and by you talking bad about the team representing us you are helping out the cause of the 16th region looking bad. I for one will always back what ever team comes out of the 16th region no matter how old or young there team is.

They really do not have a good big man. The tallest player on the team is one of the 8th graders and he plays point gaurd on the freshman team so he likes to play around the perimeter. He is timmy knipp and is 6'5".

As a past player at Elliott County, I could not agree with you more. The Class "A" really does not mean anywhere near the same as Going to rupp. Making it to rupp is every kids dream when they are growing up so IMO if you take away the sweet 16 from these kids then you would be taking away that dream and hope that we all shared when we played highshool ball in KY. This is Just My opinion though.

Congrats to the Lions!!! Another strong performance by this young team. I think that this game could have been alot closer if East would have made thier free throws. THey struggled from the line tonight.

Thanks for the Welcome. That is sad that Vanhoose is out for the playoffs, But I am sure that everyone will be cheering for him at Evansville. I agree that Russell still has a chance but I dont think they are the region favorite any more. I Like Elliott County's chances for a new 16th region champ, But like you said there is really several teams that could pull off the wins. Boyd County, Russell, Elliott County, Ashland, East Carter all could be the next champs

Who do you think will be the 16th regions champs? I would have said the red devils are the favorite but I am not sure since Vanhoose got injured. Has anyone heard how he is doing and to what extent his injury is?

I think that as long as Elliott Shoots the ball well and plays there own game they should pull this one out. Although this has grown into a rivalry over the past 8-10 years and anything could happen when these 2 teams play, Elliott to me has the better team. Go Lions!!!

I played for Rick at Elliott County and have been to allot of games since I have been out of high school. I do not think that Rick is bottom tier at all. I have the greatest respect for him. He is a coach that always puts his kids first and is out for their best interest. For those that dont think he is a good coach should go and watch them practice everyday and see how well they are prepared and in shape compared to other schools. As for how they win. Well I strongly feel that he is part of that as well as the Kids have played together for so long that they are very comfortable together on the court and they play with such big hearts it is heart to beat them. They want to get to every lose ball and make every hustle play before the other team does. I think the only bad thing you can say about them defensively is they need help inside due to a lack of size. Other than the Knipp kid there is not one Kid on the Team that is even six feet tall even though the programs say they are. It was mentioned before that all 5 players are Like guards and can all shoot pass and run the floor. It doesnt get any more fun to watch than this team. As long as they are shooting the ball well they are hard to beat. I am glad to see Elloitt doing well and It makes me proud to have played there. Keep up the Good work Elliott County and the coaching staff.

Being from a Single A school in the 16th region, I would have rather win the regional championship and get to play in Rupp Arena than have won an all "A" state championship. I think that it means something just to be able to say that you have played in rupp arena. I could be a little biased due to being a huge Kentucky fan though.
