  1. Please leave the game alone, no shot clock. But if there is going to be a change I would love either doing away with high school three point line or move it BACK. I know the three point shot gives the smaller a guy a chance, but I prefer ball movement and guys slashing as opposed to guys just hanging around the three point line to jack up a three.
  2. Did you mean DOUBLE DOUBLE, or TRIBLE DOUBLE?
  3. Yes that was him. During the summer he was the only one LCA had to play the 5 spot. Got into foul trouble during the finals against Scott County, though he started out having a great game against them. Type of kid you can't help but like for his work ethic and attitude.
  4. I know he returns to visit his surgeon on January 2nd, at that time he will know when he officially can return. The hope has been that he will be able to return no later than the beginning of the All A, which is January 24th. He tore his patella tedon and had surgery on October 23rd, therefore, it was first thought he might loose his entire senior season, but he has worked hard as wanted to do what it took even if it meant he could only return for one game. I know he said once "it's my senior season, even one game is better than none". He is working hard with and has been encouraging junior Grant Sparks, as Grant takes over the load for him.
  5. Old School Dr. I hope you're right, I would feel better having Patrick Nevitt (their center) back. I know personally it is killing him missing this tournament, and the Fifth Third Classic after Christmas. Leading rebounder last year and one of the top three scorers.
  6. No need to feel biased, I will pick GRC in that game too. As a biased LCA fan, I can say that GRC is the team that scares me the most in this tournament.
  7. Day 1 winners 1 DeSales 1 Clay County 1 Franklin County 1 Barren County 1 Lexington Christian Academy 1 Dixie Heights. 1 Elliot County 1 Shaler Area, PN Semis Lincoln County Lexington Catholic Mason County Covington Catholic Finals Mason County over Lexington Catholic 151
  8. Game 1: Frankfort High vs. Mercer County 4:30 PM Thur 12/20 vs Game 2: Marion County vs. Fern Creek 6:00 PM Thur 12/20 Game 3: LCA vs. Boyle County 7:30 PM Thur 12/20 vs Game 4: Clark County vs Rowan County 9:00 PM Thur 12/20 I will post match ups after the Thursday games, these are set for Friday.
  9. The LCA Invitational begins Thursday, December 20th Game 1: Frankfort High vs. Mercer County winner to face Game 2: Marion County vs. Fern Creek Game 3: Lexington Christian Academy vs. Boyle County winner to face Game 4: Clark County vs. Rowan County
  10. Starters were pulled and Campbell County got hot, LCA put the starters back in with a 4 point lead, and a player for Campbell County hit a three to cut it to one point. LCA then pushed it back out to an 8 point win. On another night Campbell County may have just rode the momentum to a win. Any given day, anyone can win, thats why I love high school basketball more than football. More upsets tend to happen, and smaller guys can always compete if they can shoot, pass, and play defense.
  11. LCA is without their starting center from last year as he rehabs his knee, therefore their inside presence is not the same as it will be later in the year.
  12. LCA won but it was a low scoring game, and LCA won by around 8 points. It was 47-39
  13. Congratulations to GRC, big win no matter who is playing or not. Trust me Gold Sunrise knows what I mean. LCA lost to Dunbar last night as they are still without their starting center and therefore missing the rock in the middle until mid-January, but no one is feeling sorry for LCA, and the team as a whole has to win it as a unit. Therefore, even without Morris, GRC had to beat a good team that has great coaching. Take nothing away from GRC, it was a big time win.
  14. A bit premature to say a bad schedule, marquee names does not always equate to great basketball games. But then I might be biased too :sssh:
  15. I am not sure what the outcome of the game will be but I wish GRC good luck tonight.
  16. Yes LCA is a single A school, and our center's goal is to return by the time the All A begins.
  17. Thank you, it was nice meeting you also, sorry I couldn't visit longer, I had to get back to Lexington. Very exciting game, both teams had there moments. Starting the season off with an overtime, will be helpful for both teams down the road.
  18. Good luck today Gold, our center tore his patella tendon back in October, and hopefully will be back in January. Are you going to the game today? I will be there.
  19. It will be a nice test for both teams. LCA is seeing if the fruits of all their hard work pays off, as it is a senior ladden team, with 9 seniors. LCA is playing a little short handed with their returning starting center rehabbing from knee surgery, but then guard play is their strong suit. If they are hitting their threes they can pull off the win, however, with their returning leading rebounder on the rehab list, the big test for them is staying active on the boards. Should be a fun game to watch.
  20. I suppose they picked an available and functionable facility on the border of Ohio and Kentucky, as it will numerous games with a team from Ohio facing a team from Kentucky in each game.
  21. Lexington Christian Academy to host first annual Basketball Classic in January. August 9, 2007 Lexington Christian Academy will host a one day Basketball Classic on Jan. 4, 2008. This inaugural event will feature two University of Kentucky commitments. Findlay Preparatory, from Henderson, Nevada will face off against Western Reserve Academy from Ohio in the opening game. The second game will pit host Lexington Christian Academy against Rose Hill Christian out of Ashland, KY. Tip-offs for both games are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively. Rose Hill Christian will feature UK commitment Dakotah Euton along with teammate Chad Jackson who has UK and Louisville listed in his top four schools. Findlay Preparatory will feature UK commitment DeAndre Liggins, rated top 20 nationally, along with 6’8” power forward Clarence Trent who has UK listed as one of his top college choices. Western Reserve Academy will counter Findlay Preparatory with 6’8” power forward Nate Kasper who recently committed to play for The Naval Academy.
  22. I had heard Dante' might not be playing this year, however, is this for certain, and if so does anyone know if he might be transferring elsewhere. Had the pleasure of having my son playing on the same AAU team with him. Dante' is one of the puriest shooters around. Always seemed to be a great kid.
  23. LCA will have one of its stronger teams with a strong core of seniors, and underclassmen on the rise, however, they have they hard task of facing arguably the toughest schedule in the schools history. Scott County (on the road) Lexington Catholic (twice) Rose Hill Academy Tates Creek (twice) Dunbar (twice) Montgomery Couinty (on the road) Clark County (on the road) Lafayette (depending on some players status) (twice) Also, participating in the following tournaments: Fifth Third Classic Buckeye Challenge (Northern Kentucky University) It should make them or break them.
  24. The double meaning there is very profound, I must agree. Too many kids miss out growing as basketball players, to travel on baseball teams.
  25. To be honest most teams there were short people, due to vacations, summer baseball, and football camps.
