  1. To be honest most teams there were short people, due to vacations, summer baseball, and football camps.
  2. Well they beat Middlesborro, Wayne County, Cumberland, Montgomery County, and it should be noted they played Scott County in finals when it was their 5th basketball game in less than 24 hours. Also it should be noted that they beat Middlesborro by 36 points, and I don't believe Middlesboro is that weak, just ran into a good team that night. I think it's safe to say that they did earn making it to the finals.
  3. I think LCA deserves a high five for making it to the final game against Scott County. They ran up against a wall playing their fifth game in less than 24 hours, however they faced a bigger obstacle playing a Scott County team that was hitting on all cylinders for that game. One thing is for sure they won as many games as any team did in the tournament, having to play in of the two early games.
  4. I know I posted this on another thread, but had to post here to as I am proud of the class A Scott County will take on June Buchanan, with Lexington Christian Academy taking on Cumberland. Scott County defeated Boone County 76-60 June Buchanan defeated Fern Creek 72-64 Lexington Christian defeated Middlesboro 75-39 Cumberland defeated Franklin Simpson 45-43 Class A can be proud

  6. I'm here in Lexington, does anyone know any other stations carrying the Madison Central and Tates Creek game. I wish Lexington carried the local high school games more often, like the other regions in Kentucky. I guess being a college town, the coverage is ALL DAY long when University of Kentucky plays, rather than cover a geat game like this one.
  7. Are you a Bryan Station grad? I graduated from Bryan Station in 1978, however, with my son playing for LCA I follow LCA now. I played for Bryan Station back then, however, we had some weak teams.
  8. Bryan Station should have no problem in this match up.
  9. I was there too, the other team has to do something to come back from 16 points down.
  10. LCA had to overcome a 16 point deficit late in the first quarter (27-11) to come back with a 3 point win. It was a slow process outscoring East Jessamine in each of the three remaining quarters to pull out the win. Tyler Townsend led LCA with 21 points and Justin Sanders East Jessamine finished with 22 points.
  11. Does anyone have any information on where the 2008 11th Regional will be held? I thought I found a site at one time that listed the regional sites. I can't find it on the following website http://www.allaclassic.org.
  12. I can see the revenge factor as East had LCA down by 37-30 going into the fourth quarter, only to have a wild fourth quarter in which LCA game back to win 51-47. You can't rest on past achievements though as I know lately East has been playing tough. I just hate to make the call on who will win, just that I am sure it will be an exciting game.
  13. Lexington Christian Academy travels to East Jessamine tonight.
  14. Please correct me if I am wrong but is it not the home teams choice on whether to have 2 or 3 refs? My personal preference is for 2 refs. I believe two refs call a better game than three. Of course things are going to be missed, the refs are no different than the players, they are human and WILL make mistakes. It is up to the team to put themselves in a position not to let the refs determine the game. I find that a times that 3 refs tend to become more of a factor in a ball game. I would prefer a few missed calls (NOT A FLAGRANT FOUL OF COURSE THAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS), and let the kids decide the game. I wonder though if there are 3 refs they get more lax at times thinking it's the other guys call, just a thought. My opinion of good refs, are refs that call the game but you don't notice them, they are consistent, and you know they called the game but you just don't remember them during the game.
  15. When my son was on JV I cared very much, and I would hope every program cared. In the words of Adolph Rupp, when asked about the phrase "it doesn't matter who wins or looses, it's how you play the game", Rupp was quick to respond "Then why the *#/% do we have a score board". Everyone measures their success by their piers, therefore, people do care who the top JV team.
  16. The only problem with picking the best JV team in the state, is that a lot of teams rosters get shaken up during the season. At our school, at couple of kids that were playing JV are now solely playing on the varsity squad now. So at some schools, a kids success can actually hurt a JV team.
  17. I do stand corrected on my earlier post, Rose Hill did outscore LCA in the third quarter. 1st Quarter Rose Hill 25 LCA 18, Second Quarter LCA 17 Rose Hill 16 (Half time Rose Hill 41 LCA 35), third quarter Rose Hill 16 LCA 10 (end of 3rd Rose Hill 57 LCA 45), fourth quarter LCA 26 Rose Hill 17 (final Rose Hill 74 LCA 71). Next up for eagles Frankfort on Tuesday night.
  18. #15 is Jeremy Hobbs a senior, and had a good game. LCA actually had a chance to win the game when they had the ball with 12 seconds to go and down by one point, but took an ill advised 3 pointer when only needing two points to take the lead. Rose Hill got the rebound and was fouled. Going to the line for 2 shots (10th foul) the shooter missed the first shot and second shot with 3 seconds remaining, but LCA failed to block out the shooter and he got the rebound and was fouled again. Going to the line with one second he made both free throws. LCA actually outscored Rose Hill in the second, third and fourth quarters, but they just didn't score enough to make up the first quarter deficit. Now Rose Hill never lost the lead but had it slowly erroded thoughout the game. Rose Hill played a good game and deserved the win. The LCA kids were really dejected having lost another close game. Their schedule this year is the toughest in school history. Hopefully this will prepare them for next year, as their schedule will only be more difficult. Dakota was a force and scored 22 points, Jeremy Hobbs led LCA with 19 points.
  19. Come on my adopted Gallatin Wildcats show some LCA love here and help me out...... :jump:
  20. LCA supporter here, making the drive up there it should be fun for the guys. As to the outcome, I am sure no one is giving us a chance, we lost out on a close one last night to Lafayette 80-76. LCA had a 1 point lead going into the fourth quarter, but went cold from the field. Rose Hill has two of the premier freshman in the nation playing for them, if LCA shows up it could be a good game, we did play Tates Creek and Lexington Catholic great games this year, but also played two poor games against them. I'll post an update when I make it back from the Ashland area.
  21. Well being what seems the lone voice from LCA on here, I will declare that Gallatin County is now my other adopted team. As in the days of the Romans, when you were defeated you joined their ranks. :thumb: Therefore, I will declare that Gallatin County will prevail. Hey sending positive vibes can only help the Wildcats.
  22. 11th region"er" here, how was it comprimised? just curious
  23. From an LCA fan, I was pulling for Gallatin, and I still wish them the best in the future. I was very impressed by their fan support. There was so much BLUE, I thought Kentucky took the court. In fact, doesn't Gallatin County's warm ups remind you of Kentucky's 1978 Championship Team warm ups? I probably am repeating old news on that topic though.
