gold sunrise Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 This was a game of scoring spurts. Score at the half was GRC 34 LCA 31. LCA went on a scoring bing in the 3rd quarter...end of 3rd LCA 53 GRC 40. The Cards fought back the 4th quarter and score was tied at 60 all at the end of regulation play. In OT it was back and forth, then LCA went ahead, the Cards had 8 seconds to try and score a 3 to send it into double overtime but the shot by Robbie Stenzel hit the front of the rim. I was impressed by LCA...very well coached team. Also they were missing one of their starters. Bright spot for GRC was the play of Freshman Travis Pervis...going to be a good one. GRC dresses 5 Freshman. The Cards will take some knocks this season, but will get better as the season goes along. Also got to meet dank325 ...very nice to meet you and the best of luck to you and your LCA team the rest of the year. Also talked to the Coaches from Montgomery Co....wonder what they were doing there........
True blue (and gold) Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Sorry for the loss, gold. Sounds like a good game.
gold sunrise Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 Sorry for the loss, gold. Sounds like a good game. It was a good game...both teams came back from being down. We are very young this year....dress 5 Freshman and start 2 of them. We will take some knocks this year, but will only make us stronger as the season goes on.
danky325 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Thank you, it was nice meeting you also, sorry I couldn't visit longer, I had to get back to Lexington. Very exciting game, both teams had there moments. Starting the season off with an overtime, will be helpful for both teams down the road.

Hopefully your big center can return in January. Is LCA a single A school? If so they could make some noise in that tourney. Best of luck the rest of the season. I will be keeping up with your team.:thumb:
danky325 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Yes LCA is a single A school, and our center's goal is to return by the time the All A begins.
