2007 Bluegrass/Buckeye Charity Classic @ NKU

Featured Replies

Hey everyone....just wanted to let you all know the schedule for the 2007 edition of the Bluegrass/Buckeye Charity Classic.

There was a scheudling conflict with a NKU game that day but it has been resolved and NKU will play Asbury College in a men's game at 11:30a.m. This is NOT part of the BBCC and if anyone wants to watch the NKU/Asbury game and watch the BBCC games, you WILL have to exit the gym and buy another ticket. There will be announcements made for everyone to clear the gym as fast as you can so we can get the fans for the BBCC games into Regents Hall.

Well enough of that, here is the schedule for the event. The first game is a Bluegrass/Bluegrass game....not sure why...maybe they had a couple Ohio schools that had to drop out of this event for one reason or another.

Also...the Georgetown HS G-Men are the same team that went undefeated at 28-0 and won a state championship in Ohio's Division IV.

1:30 pm Campbell Co. vs Lex. Christian Academy

3:15 pm St. Henry vs Anderson (OH)

5:00 pm Georgetown (OH) vs Holy Cross (Cov.)

6:45 pm Highlands vs Lakota East (OH)

8:30 pm Cov Cath vs Oak Hills (OH)

So with everything being said, what do you think of this schedule and who should win the games?

Also, if anyone from BGP will be attending the games and wants to come say hello to me, I wouldn't mind meeting new people from the site. I will once again be the public address announcer for the BBCC. I have had a blast doing it the previous two years and will do so again this year....eventhough I willhave had right around 12 hour day by the time it is over.

I read this entire post and no where does it say what DAY it's on??

Slight oversight perhaps, like scheduling a home men's game the same day. :sssh:

It's Saturday, Dec. 15.

Sounds like the folks at NKU may want to do a better job coordinating and communicating, so they don't over-schedule the venue for starters.

As for the schedule, I think the Ohio side is very weak. Georgetown lost a lot off last year's great team and were drilled by an Eastern Ky. team in a scrimmage (Elliot County maybe?)

No GCL schools?

Lakota West is good, Lakota East, not. They brought the wrong Lakota school.

If you can't get any GCL schools, then why not Princeton, Withrow, Lakota West, at least the best of the rest?

I'm disappointed by the schedule.

I know that Oak Hills has a very good Junior guard back from last season. They had some nice size last year, thats about all i know of them. I still thnk scheduling some better competition would have been nice. Especially if they do this for years to come at the new Arena. Nobody wants to pay $10 to get in and watch bad games.

Oak Hills will be big, but they aren't very good. And they are in the marquee matchup of the evening.

I agree asking people to pay $10 per pop the weekend before Christmas to watch a bad schedule of high school games won't go over real well.

Seems this event has been in a downward spiral for several years after a promising start at the Cintas Center.

A bit premature to say a bad schedule, marquee names does not always equate to great basketball games. But then I might be biased too :sssh:

Remember that it is not NKU that schedules the games...it is the coaching staff from CovCath that schedules them.

As far as not putting the dat, I'm sorry for that oversight.

One other thing that I'd like to point out, the $10 admission is also not set by NKU.

No, I'll go ahead and say it's a bad schedule and stand by my prior posts.

What teams, or matchups, are compelling for the average fan to watch?
