Add 8th graders Darrell Hicks - Shelby County and Larry Morton - Lexington Paul Dunbar. And for what it's worth I think Monroe is the only one of the 8th graders that wasn't held back a year. To me that doesn't really matter. You are going to be playing against older players anyway up to 5 years difference in some cases. If you want to get better at your skills and the game you need to play against tougher and older kids anyway!:thumb:

:DHopefully GC you might be able to watch PC play at the BOK in March. Good Luck to the Cards this year also. The game with PC is a Saturday afternoon game.

Parking will not be an issue for the regionals.

Mason Monroe will play for Pendleton County and be a nice addition. It will be fun to watch him play high school basketball for the next 5 years. The folks from Pendleton are excited about watching this youngster play. He has yet to play a game of high school ball but already has several colleges interested in him. He has had some major exposure playing AAU ball and has had two outstanding D1National tournaments the last two years. He was invited and had a very good showing this summer at the JR All American camp outside of Washington DC for the top middle school players in the country. He will also play for one of Kentucky's top aau team in the newly formed Kentucky Elite Basketball which features some of the top kids in the state in the class of 2013.

When you have the caliber of talent as Nathan McGovney does you move them up. Do you think McGovney would be pushed and get better by playing in the 8th grade this year? This will only help his further development as a player going against older and stronger kids everyday. He is one of several kids from this class in this state that has the ability to play up. The class of 2013 is very,very strong and deep throughout the state. He is one of the top kids in the state in this class and I believe he will be a D1 player in the college level by the time his high school career is over.

Only make them better for the March Run!

Wasn't no different in the old 38th with Campbell,Brossart,Pendleton,Bracken & Silver Grove. And in the old 40th you only had three teams Clark, Montgomery & Estill.

I have heard he possibly will return next year. Fine if he does...fine if he doesn't.

I hope they resume playing in the future. I know the current 8th grade class have had some classic battles in the past. I would love to see the same in the future.

How many transfers are on the GRC roster? It must be a Cardinal thing with transfers.:lol:

Coach Simms should not even be on this list. He will be in his 3rd year and took over after PC's Glory years. He is definitely not on the hot seat. He put together a remarkable run at the end of the season last year with a District title overcoming much adversity. He and his staff have done more for the youth in that county than any previous staffs. I believe he and his teams will be fine. I don't know about the comments of the 8th grade class there being loaded and running through the district and regionals. I believe Harrison County has a fine 8th grade team also and has some height. I do believe they will be very competitive under his watch. It will be ultimately up to the players as how good they will be in the future.

I heard today Pendleton County won the 8th Region with Mason County finishing 2nd at Maysville CC. I did not here by how many strokes. I do not know who were the individual winners either. Is anyone surprised by the out come of this regional tournament? Good luck to Pendleton and Mason at the State Tournament.
