I totally agree. It was a very entertaining game to watch. Walton had an opportunity to open the game up with two fast break chances at the beginning of the 4th qtr and didn't convert either one. So instead of being up 10 - Gallatin converted and Walton was only up 2. I would imagine with the talent thats coming up thru both systems, WV and GC should be battling each other for the All "A" over the next 4 or 5 years.

I would disagree with them being offended. What region would you rather be in, the 8th or 9th? Other than the travel...I think they would much rather be in the 8th, especially now that Scott County is gone to the 11th. I don't know how anyone could have watched that game last night and come away saying that there isn't a rivalry. It's evident both on the floor and in the stands. Both teams played extremely hard and that makes it fun to watch. Good luck to both teams thru out the rest of the season.

Both teams played hard -- not good, but hard. Walton will need to play much better in order to have any chance at beating Gallatin on Saturday.

56-46 was the final, but is was closer than a 10 point game.

The game is at Walton. As far as this being the worst WV team in recent history --- that's not even close. This team will probably win as many games as last years team.

Welcome to the site Jeanie! No disrespect to you but at this point Kirk is a better shooter than Jones. Jones is certainly capable of knocking down shots but he needs to start making some. Case in point, Walton's scrimmage versus Eminance this past weekend, i believe Jones had 1 basket in 5 quarters. Henry always plays hard so it should be an entertaining game.

The 32nd district went 3-1 in the tournament. Twenhofel won Friday night and lost Saturday morning. Walton-Verona went 2-0, then had to leave because of a scheduling conflict.

The guard play will be much better this year. If they can rebound and make perimeter shots they should have a nice season.

Being the 32nd district runner-up might not mean they are better than last year. That only guarantees two additional games.

Getting back to the topic. Gallatin creates a lot of match up problems, because of their ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. I would still like to see someone on Gallatin's team knock down a mid range jump shot on a regular basis. If they can rebound, and score (other than transition, because good teams will limit that) I think they will be able to play with anybody on their schedule - even Scott County to a certain degree. Anything less than 20 wins, the 8th region class A title, and a trip to the regional would be a disappointment in Warsaw - (withstanding injuries of course). Expectations will be high, even with or without a transfer.

If I was picking a transfer that has went to Gallatin County over the past few years - I'll take Maddux a 4 year starter, now that is a good, no great, transfer.

I saw Walton play a couple times this summer, and the jury is still out on them. Hargett can play with most anybody in the region, but I would expect a repeat of last years underachieving for the team, I hope I'm wrong. Walton is loaded in the middle school with talent, but they are a year or so away from seeing any meaningful varsity minutes.

With trying to pick a top 5, someone had to be left out. Any of the one's you mentioned above would probably fall under the top 15.

I think John Anderson is probably top 10 for sure just don't know if he would break into the top 5. Andy Burns would probably fall into that same catagory.
