Perry is a coach that can win some games for you. He has beat me enough times.

6'9 Jordan Stephens 6'3 Josh Clark 6'3 Brandon Rash 5'9 Blane Stull And a few more kids that really understand the game. Coach Rison left a program for a coach that can really win some games next season. You know what you get out of stull and clark and that is hard defensive effort every night and a pretty consistent scoring attack. Jordan has such a tremendous upside, but needs to finish from 5-8 ft instead of 8-12 ft. The percentages go from about 30%to 60% by just moving in 3 ft. And Rash, look out boys, he is the most legitimate D1 threat on that team, If he grows 2 more inches, he is ink and paper baby. If I am a coach, I work on getting those two guys the rock and running out front with stull. Speeding up the game next year will beat clark and should make the game with Mason at the very least, interesting to watch.

It's all good.I just wish they would go ahead and decide on a coach. I think the kids are ready to start a new chapter.

I have a 5 year plan, its called have another kid and sink another 20,000 in debt. Seriously, a good thing for Montgomery co. will be someone who can wait it out until he has time to get good coaches around them and develop some talent and develop interest in the game from the entire (hear me now) community. It very well may take five years to reap the benefits of new coach,but the boys in montgomery co. sure could use some cloth in that new gym!!

Your coach had it all wrong kygirl. Practice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. And yelling, wow hello, have you ever seen a college coach. I guess the general, and K, and Roy Williams, and all of those guys are not good coaches because they yell at their players. They yell because they are intimate enough with their players that they can reaction from that yell, that is when you have done something as a coach. Not just yelling to be yelling, but yelling to get results.

I've said earlier though. There is a lot of basketball knowledge in that school and many people who know what is good for the kids, the question is, what will their criteria be for hiring the new coach?

All of those guys are good candidates. I dont think you can go to a small school to replace a guy like Coach Rison at Montgomery Co. Replace great with great eventually the program will be down then you can take a chance on a guy, who knows maybe he can bring you back up, but you cant take a chance when you are running at the ring, IMO.

I think the keys (because I think it is a combination) is player development, player control, player relationship, x and o's, and luck makes up good coaches. The hardest thing that I think coaches have to battle in todays coaching world is getting players to play outside of their comfort zones. Most players are comfortable at a certain level and they become complacent often with friends, family and current win/loss situations. If a coach can get a player to perform outside of where he/she is comfortable that player will ultimately be better for it and so will the team. Most times the player adapts and becomes comfortable being great, who isnt comfortable with the pressure are the parents (which is why a lot of parents love to complain when a coach is trying to make their kid better, they just cant see that).

Ha,ha. I am with you radio, Eliott was the top team by far, no matter what the region standings has them listed at. Congrats to all of these men. I got a chance to see most of them play and they are all worthy competitors.

I thought izzie prewitt was exactly what you called her, a gem in the tournament and yes Kayla Webb to me, is the most raw athlete on the floor everytime she is out there. To me though, it should be tough to fill the void of Danis no matter who the player is. I think that Coach Robinson and Whitney will have their hands full filling the holes of two post players lost but on the flip side, there was a lot of upside in Webb, Colliver, and prewitt this season. How about the Jehlik girl, man I would love to see that developed.

Cool. In their locker room at UT they have a map of every US state and on it is a colored differently for states that Pat has recruited from. Oddly only about 1/2 of the US states are filled in, including KY.

How long has it been since a KY player signed with UT, curious?

One of the good things about Coach Robinson getting this job is that she is familiar with every team on the schedule and their strengths and weaknesses, however, I feel like the most positive thing to consider when you are an opposing team is that Mongtomery county will be the same as last year, skill and talent wise. That said, if your team is improving, you have a shot to compete each night with this bunch. They lost some speed with Danis leaving too. Remember she played the frontline on the press and was a tremendous athlete forcing you to throw the ball over the top leaving steals for Prewitt and Lee. Having Danis in the front also allowed the coaching staff to put a faster person back on the press allowing for more defensive coverage deep, much like a football cornerback. Losing her, I believe will change Mont. Co's ability to press and run the break which ultimately will take 10-12 pts off their game. So, if you are 12 pts better than you were last year, you can compete with next year's team.

The halves topic I think is unique. I like the quarters since it gives structure to the gameplan of a coach. I have long felt like college coaches are often at the mercy of the clock. I've seen many coaches just waiting for those final seconds to tick off of a long 7-8 minute stretch where the kids are tired and just need a break but coach is saving time outs.

Very noble. I would not have that job. My wife is a teacher. Coaching kids a few hours a day is all I can handle of the young ones.

Rison at Montgomery Co. is a good pitcher. She has has some shoulder issues but has been in rehab and has thrown the ball really well. I know of a guy in Montgomery Co. who has an 8th grade daughter who is really good. I cant wait to see her play with the big girls.
