You know, If that 8th grader plays or starts varsity, and the rest of the kids are stuck in middle or freshman ball, It could be years before they have the opportunity to create any type of chemistry. Is playing some with the young kids where she can enjoy herself to some degree a bad thing. Kids know that at the varisty level its about winning. Maybe an 8th grader just wants to enjoy herself some with her friends. Not necessarily a bad thing. Thoughts....

I am not sure how that changes the legality. But I like it.

I coach boys so here is a scenario for you: How many boys coaches call up their former players or gather them up when they are home for christmas to have them come in and work their kids over?? It gives the young boys another game like environment. I dont know about the legality over it but it surely doesnt seem right to allow that and not allow the girls to get an edge? Thoughts..

I know of a coach my wife played against uses this same tactic and I had a chance to observe it first hand. This coach who does this happens to be the winningest coach to ever coach the game of basketball with 927 wins and oh yeah has a pretty good program down in tennessee. I like the fact that you can use boys to challenge your "better" girls to get stronger, quicker, etc.

I like scenario based questions like that hhsdad. It forces the candidate to think on his feet. None of those formatted answers for cookie cutter questions.

Its funny you say that freethrow about the 16th region. I coach in the 16th and that is exactly who I was referring to. Glad somebody else sees it that way. That question is only relavent if the committee knows what a practice should be structured like, plus, as any coach knows; you have preseason practices, season practices, and post season practices. None of which are the same type of structure. That question might best be answered by a past staff member, prior prinicpal or another reference on the list.
