  1. What?! :irked: I don't like it, and don't think it is funny! Wonder what his Titans players thought about that? Seems like a STATE CHAMPIONS jacket or whatever would be the apparel of choice over a 'Runner-up' jacket. That is sort of like a chamelion changing to 'blend' in their environment. I personnaly think a Mercer Co. Titans State Champions jacket would have been a bit more classy! IMO!!!! Be proud of where you are and what you've accomplished... whether in enemy territory or not. You're right Buffalo Gap, thats just Marty... gonna do whatever he wants, popular or not.
  2. Well I know I'll be pretty 'upset' if we don't beat Lincoln Friday night.  #4 seed or not, Mercer should make a run in the playoffs if they get focused and play to their potential. It certainly would be the right time of the year to peak!!:thumb:
  3. 5- Christian County 3- Lafayette 3- Wayne Co. 1- Bath 1- Calloway Co. 1- Bullitt East 1- Dixie Heights 1- Clay Co. 1- Lincoln Co. 1- Ryle tb= 48
  4. Back at ya Buffalo Gap... I know what you're saying here!:thumb: So, IMO, Mercer has had an average performance regular season, the team (players and staff) are feeling the pressure of going from being the 2006 Class 2A State Champs to Class 5A #4 Seed in the district and feeling quite lucky just to be in the playoffs. All this... mix it up, and you get a little tension and stress here in Titantown. I still think we can beat Lincoln Friday night, but it'll have to be one heck of an effort with no TOs, mental mistakes, etc. to do it. GO TITANS!
  5. Agree and Agree! Nicely put 3wishes. :thumb: I'm a Titans fan! I love the game of football and I also enjoy being able to get on here and put in my two cents worth (and it ain't even worth 2 cents ). I just hate getting in those darn debates everytime an opinion gets posted. Instead of BGPreps it could be IMOPreps...
  6. Playing at home during the playoffs is definitely an advantage. Mercer is an improved team from their first encounter with the Patriots, but I realize Lincoln Co is much improved too! I will say that I don't think the Titans can get in another down to the wire game and pull it out. They need to get on top early and stay on top.
  7. I don't understand this. Dunbar went 1-9 in 2006 and this year they're 3-7. Are they on the edge of getting back to the 8-2, 10-0 days??
  8. Hey, you're right... who would have thought that Simon Kenton would have beaten Russell at Russell!?!? But I still say Mason gets the win over West!!:thumb:
  9. Who wins this one and why? Their first matchup was a good game, going down to the wire. Both teams have improved, but who has it clicking on all cylinders at this time?
  10. I thought the Bulldogs found their answer when they hired David Hensley a few years ago, but it doesn't appear so, IMO. I too would think the 2nd biggest public high school in the state would be better than what they have been the past 2 years. Do you see a change coming? No disrespect to Boyle Co whatsover. They have a great coach in Pardue and he has a good team that has played a very tough schedule, which appears now to be paying off!
  11. Based on what? Winning their last 2 games? True, many of us thought they'd beat Fleming and Greenup by 2 or 3 TDs, but hey, they won. You're right about the defense, they haven't stepped up and played to the potential they can... yet. I look to see a determined, hard-nosed defense Friday night. Oh, and Cox (the starting QB) is also a major force on defense, so that had a little something to do with the 'anemic defensive performance', IMO. And you're right about it being an upset considering Mason beat West 62-14 in their first meeting.:thumb:
  12. Key word there, 'experience'. I think Pawsat did very well in his first start and if the defense tightens up I see the Royals making some noise in the playoffs. Coach B knows there are no second-chances in the playoffs and I am confident he has imbedded that fact in his players' minds. And, on the defensive side of the ball, it hurt not having Cox out there as he is a major force on the defense too. The good thing is that we have a week to prepare and work on the things that need improving and make adjustments for positions where players are out injured.
  13.:laugh::laugh:... Okay, we'll bring it! Oh, and uh, you may wanna sober up by then because its a hard thing to see a man cry in his beer.
  14. So how do you think the freshman QB did in his opening debut? Don't you think this was probably the main reason the game was so close? I think offense and defense feed off of one another. Sometimes the defense comes up and makes a big HIT, causing a fumble, etc. etc. and that then fires up the offense. See what I mean? I'm not making any excuses, just seems like there has been some adversity the past two weeks that have caught Coach B and his team off guard and those are things you simply don't see coming. My hats off to the young QB for stepping up and leading his team on the road to get the win! We'll get it rolling mcpapa, so hang on!! :thumb:
  15. Well its the game I'm hoping for! I know there are alot of us Royals hoping to get another shot at Russell. If we do in fact meet again, it should be another dandy of a game!!
  16. The Royals' motto is 'find a way to win' and that is what they did tonight. I'd have to agree with you about the 2 PT call at home. I think its a gutsy call.
  17. You're exactly right!:thumb: I got a little ahead of myself. Mason definitely can't take anything for granted and I'm sure it'll be a battle with West just to get to Russell.
  18. A bit ironic, yes, but I'd rather had the 2pt conversion against Russell for the win and give this one to Greenup.
  19. I don't know how long he'll be off. I think this game was alot closer than most of us thought due in part to the freshman QB getting his first start tonight (not to take anything away from Greenup Co.). Its just hard to go all season and get close to playoffs and have to make a quarterback change, especially as young as a freshman. It may have not been pretty, but a win is win. We'll take it!! Now its time to get ready for Russell!
  20. Way to go Royals!! Good win for Mason Co, especially since they started their freshman QB tonight as starter Ritchie Cox is out with an injury. Good to get a win like this on the road with such a young quarterback. Good luck next week... go Royals!!:fight:
  21. Good win for Lincoln Co. Looks like they've got things rolling heading in to the playoffs.
  22. I do know that Mason Co. started its freshman quarterback tonight as starter Cox is out with an injured shoulder. This is also only the 2nd start for the center as the starting center has an injury as well. Keep the updates coming please. Thanks
  23. Not sure I like it,:irked: but thanks for the information midee1.
  24. Anybody have any information on this game?
  25. The Royals will take care of business tonight! Look for it to be an exciting display by the Royals of what this team can do. This isn't the time of the season to be 'going through the motions' and Coach B will have his players ready. No doubt about that!:thumb: Mason 35 Greenup Co. 14
