I guess it's obvious I was misinformed because there are others on the thread that know more than I do about the situation. I am not close to the situation nor have I seen the Reardon's since his 8th grade yr. I did hear that there was a place of residence in NR. His dad was in a situation at NR and instead of putting Cody in a BAD situation, they thought they would transfer to HC. Other kids in the area transfer because they're not getting playing time or the parents don't like the coach, etc. etc. etc. As far as I know.....this is a bona fide move. It must be....the KHSAA said so. This is a kid who wants to play and get a good education. I guess for any answers, need to contact KHSAA, HC, Coach Kozerski, or the Reardon's. Maybe the circumstances was different in this case then others.

I'm not sure of the circumstances Coach Reardon left NR, but I did hear it wasn't a pleasant one. I don't think Coach Reardon had any intent to develope Cody at NR then pull him and enroll him at HC. As a father he wanted to coach his son and things didn't work out. With Cody being a kid, I'm sure things would have been awkward. Would Cody have gotten a fair shake at NR? Anyway Coach Reardon got a coaching job at HC and his mother's been a teacher there for years. Cody could have enrolled ANYWHERE in NKY and been the starting QB the 2007-2008 yr.. This is a good move and a great fit for HC. BEST OF LUCK CODY!!!!

The spelling is deity. 1,800 yds is great!!! Great job!!! He must be diety (deity). I hope the kid your speaking about is successful and has a great season. I like to see ALL kids do well. Even if they are the opponent.

If the transfer goes through for Cody Reardon of Covington Holy Cross he very well could be the #1 QB in KY. For New Richmond he completed 65% of passes, 1,400 yds with 11 TD's in 06 as a Jr., as a soph. in 05 he also had 1,400 yds passing.

With me being a Cov. Holy Cross fan I have to think that Jeff West will have a good year. He was the go to guy across the middle last yr. when they needed a 1st down. He has good hands and above avg. speed.

Phillip Moore and Robert Walker for Covington Holy Cross could be big this year.

Need I emphize COULD be better. Yes I do agree that the incoming class has some big shoes to fill with replacing the Senior O-line. But they have some talented linemen in Vogelpohl, Oldiges, Meier, Bernie Bripshover, Sullivan. So....the talent is there. Can HC utilize the players sufficiently?

Defensively HC might have a few issues. Offensively they will put some pts. on the board throwing the ball. If the QB coming in gets the OK to transfer.... they will be throwing the ball alot. He has a well above avg. arm. They have a few kids that can go get the ball. Sullivan at TE, Moore, Walker, Cooper out of the back field, and West and Ronker at WR. IMO this could be a better team offensively then last yrs.

I do know the QB in question went to HC from K-8. His mother teaches at HC, his fater was the head fball coach at New Richmond before resigning and they've lived in NKY for as long as I can remember. So not really a Cincinnati product.

How do you think HC will do this year with the loss of 22 seniors and the new alignment?

Cody is the real deal, his dad has done a good job grooming him into a nice QB with a way above average arm. Not to mention he has a heck of a leg as a punter. West was a WR in youth Fball, QB as a freshman and WR (varsity) as a soph. Did QB on JV his soph yr., but not by design. They had a JV QB who got hurt. West is 6'2", 185 lb, and 4.5 speed w/ good hands and would be the QB if Cody wasn't at HC. Hands down, Cody will be the starting QB, punter and maybe the place kicker!

Although I will be cheering on HC to win, IMO, whoever wins this game WILL (sorry 3ptsooter :fight: ) knock off BHS. I'll say HC 7 or less for the win.

You are correct in that aspect, but not in this case. The receiver's hands was in 1 place to catch the ball but it was tipped and changed directions and off the pads.

NO, the defender was on the right hip of the receiver and tipped the ball, the ball off the pads, up in the air and the defender pulled it out of the air. Or was the receiver that bad that he had no clue how to catch the ball. Explain to me how the ball hit off the pads then........it was tipped. I seen it on the films.

I know they're receiveing yds. I was making a point of how he got the yds and what play was run.....I really don't think he had 97 rushing. Anyway a block in the back is a no, no and how do we know, Vicars might have been tackled if there wasn't a block in the back. So.....we really can't say if he woulda, coulda, shoulda got the TD.

Actually the ball was tipped by the defender, off the pads, into the air and snatched by the defender.

If anyone was there, I believe Vicars got all his yds. on the screen pass not rushing. I could be wrong. If so.......someone please correct me.

I agree with you that it is hard to get fired up. But to quote you in a previous post "it's a new season". Hopefully the kids will forget this past Friday and take care of business. Good luck against Dayton.....not that they need it. Beechwood wins again!
