Ferg is not 6'2, I stood beside him last night after the game and he is pushing 6'0 and that is with shoes on. If he playes the 2 in college he may want to learn how to dribble with his head up. Noticed something last night that I have not noticed with him before. He is comfortable going North and South, but only takes 2 maybe 3 dribbles at the max left or right and they are always with his head down looking at the ball. It's so hard to pick up because 95% of the time you see the kid playing North and South.

Just alittle info the other two have only verbally committed which in college coaches terms means absolutley nothing until you sign the paper.

Congrats to Elliott on the win, and to West my heart goes out to you. Don't think anyone at that game could argue that West didn't leave anything on the floor when they walked off there tonight. Pretty sure I over heard on the radio that west was like 34% from 3 land but they only made 8. Elliott was only like 6 for 18 from 3's, kind of expected to see a little different outcome from there. Don't quote me on these stats though.

Congrats to the Comets, looked like East never could get rolling after jumping out 8-0, but I agree with you longball Jackson can't 0 pts and 0 rebounds for them to compete espically with Elliott. If they can't guard West guards they can't guard Elliott's.

I would say that it's more of Menifee being underrated. They are a very dangerous team, play hard, good shooters and all have the ability to score, plus they are playing an uptempo style which is creating more shots for them.

Even though this is a rival game, the big question is which team is going to show up for East? The preseason #2 or the what's happened to them team. Not so sure is East player's or coaches have found their identity in style yet.

I totally agree on this with you. West drove in, had to leave school early. Game started at 10 a.m. and from sources there didn't look like either team really played well. Who's idea of playing a high school basketball in season at 10 am anyway. Plus Ryle had to play last night as well if I'm not mistaken.

The other one is locked so we will try this out? So what does everyone one think? West- 58 East- 46 Advantage West due to homecourt.

You can make make an agrument for any game whether its high school, college, or the pros. I don't matter that is only part of it. Poor shooting is a different story, sounds like they should have knocked down the open ones. Since you watched it did it look like they were rushing their shots due to the length and quickness of the TX team?

Coal Grove by 18, let me show you this, West Carter beat Menifee 84-71, and Menifee beat Coal Gove 73-67 in OT. Finally West beat Boyd 69-50.

But are those full season averages, because Elliott still has not completed first semester yet, so they have plenty of chances for that average to go down.

Just a thought but wonder about the West Carter teams of 94 thru 96 with Jeremy Webb and Shay Berry? Or the Ashland teams during that time? Cause I know that West Carter, Ashland, and Boyd County all had top 25 teams during those years or atleast they beat some top 25 teams.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Elliott is going to have some problems at this tournament. This is a tough tournament year in and year out. They're always bringing in some of America's top notch teams. So I'm going to say Elliott loses 94 to 70. But I wish them well and hope they represent the state well.

You have to have 3 or 4 guards that you can put on the floor to match Elliott's guards and East just doesn't have that. That is the reason why they will get beat by 30+. Plus the Lions are smelling blood and still wanting to prove their self's to any non believer's.

As bad as I hate to say this. lol. East by 18.

I'm not for sure if this has been brought up in the previous forum on the game, but with the addition of the newspaper article it sounds like the Boyd Co. team of the 50's would have scored alot more probably with the 3pt LINE. Games like this happen more then what people think, it just don't happen that often around here.
