True, plus Mason County fans are a good, traveling group. It would be terrible for them to go five minutes downtown (St. Pat) or 20 minutes down the AA (Augusta) to get turned away because of fire regs or whatever. I don't see this as a selfish choice at all.

Here's a question for anyone that knows...if you do choose to seed, doesn't that involve a home-and-home matchup with each team in the district? Not to sound disrespectful, but does anyone else see Mason County playing at either St. Pat or Augusta? Not because of the competition, but because of the size of the gyms, I mean.

If that's the case, it wasn't brought up as part of the agenda this morning. Could still be on the down low, I guess.

Untrue. Seeding was not brought up, at all. The only thing that was up for change was drawing the boys and girls separately, which was tied at 2-2, but a different vote than above. Again, there is no truth at all that seeding was voted on, it wasn't even mentioned in the meeting.

Though I appreciate the effort and research on this post, it's impossible to say who's better between Augusta, Bracken, and St. Pat this season. I've seen each play numberous times (often each other), and at the risk of using a cliche, you can throw records out the window between these three. They're extremely even, and if you throw out a dry stretch here or a hot streak there in any of the games already played, you're looking at a 3-5 point thriller each time. No disrespect to anyone else in the region, but I challenge you to find a more exciting first round district game than whichever of these two teams match up following tomorrow's draw.

I can vouch for Kenton being a good manager, but he's got a great mentor in Carly Case. Since Carly is pursuing this collegiately and hopefully beyond, I think that's as good a criteria as any to be called best in the region.

Four, three of which were/are 1,000 point scorers at St. Pat: Josh, Jordan and Chris. Josh played baseball at UK and Jordan went on to play basketball at Georgetown. Their oldest brother Kirk, was a few years older than me, but I don't have any record of him playing basketball for the Saints (help me out here if anyone else knows).

The schedule is what I went on, especially the win over South Laurel. Unfortunately, I think the two losses last weekend hurt them state-wide, especially the score of the Scott County game. I still think they're top 10.

Keep in mind that Owen's 35 came after he picked up his 2nd foul with 6:56 to go in the first quarter and he didn't return until 5:15 to go in the second. Yes, 35 points and he missed almost 10 minutes of action. I'll have our official box score up in probably an hour.

I heard the same thing, totally agree, the schools did a nice things for those players. Plus, coincidence or not, this is also good preparation for the 10th Region semis and finals, should the two be paired up on opposite sides after the draw.
