Mason Co 77 Fleming Co 52

Mason Co improves to 18-2

Fleming Co falls to 5-14

Middleton with 22

The 360 slam by Miller was AWESOME.

To Fleming's credit, they kept it close; something like an 11-point lead at halftime. Mason blew the game open in the 3rd; Middleton was on fire.

Interesting game for Mason with (I guess) 16th Region officials; who tend to call fouls for just about anything (except hooking). Probably good preparation for Friday night's game in Morehead.

SOunds like Flemming played way. Way to play Russ!

Yep, I was listening to the game on the radio and it sounded like Darius did one heck of a dunk.

He mentioned on the air that the JV game ran long because the refs were calling fouls left and right. Sure enough, they called a BUNCH of fouls in this game.

Box from tonight, courtesy of Chuck Hamilton:

Mason County 19 17 24 17 – 77

Fleming County 14 11 6 21 – 52

FC: Moore 8 4-4 20, Compton 0 1-2 1, Rogers 1 0-2 2, Ellison 3 10-15 16, Roberts 1 2-3 5, Dugan 1 0-0 3, Newsome 2 1-1 5. Totals 16 18-27 52.

Three-pointers: MC 10 (Middleton 6, Scott 2, Setty, Browning), FC 2 (Roberts, Dugan).

Records: Mason County 18-2, Fleming County 5-14.

Mason was up 32-16 but Fleming got it to 11 at the half. Mason outscored Fleming 24-6 in the 3rd quarter; combination of hot shooting, especially from Middleton, and forcing a lot of turnovers with Darius playing the point on defense. The lead was 72-41 before mop-up time.

I thought that Moore played a nice game for the Panthers; he wasn't intimidated inside.

I keep hearing that there's a big difference in the way games are called in the 16th. Mason has been in a lot of venues this season where the refs let you play - if no distinct advantage is gained, no foul is called. From what I saw in both games - JV and varsity - things are definitely called a lot closer in the 16th.

WOW this was closer then anticipated nice game for Russ and Congrats to the Royals good luck the rest of the season. They have to be the team to beat come tourny time IMO

Well now this sucks to have to miss the Fleming game but unfortunately i had to because they flu has the best of me right.First Mason game Ive missed a long while sounds like the Royals were a little flat to start this one out.Should be a tougher game on Friday at Rowan and i should be back.

Are these 2 schools getting along together now? Will they continue to play each other once a year?
