Featured Replies

Just thought id let everyone know.

What teams are in the 39th district?

Mason Co.

Bracken Co.

St. Pat

Does it really matter who draws who?

Fans of each school, will want to follow their own team and support them, so yes it does matter.

Yeah no one wants to play Mason.

It matters alot. If you dont draw Mason the first round then you at least have a shot at going to Region and thats big for all 3 other schools. For example Augusta last year they were beat in the district finals but the whole town was shut down with celebration last year just because they got to play in march at the Fieldhouse.

This year with the Deming /Nicholas matchup in the 37th, there is going o be 1 very interesting 1st round game at least.. the loser from this district could wind up playing on Saturday.

You mean 38th.

What time and where is the draw tomorow????

9:00 am Friday. At Mason Co.

Records against one another this season:

Augusta

Bracken County: 0-2, with one game remaining @ Bracken on Friday

Mason County: 0-0

St. Patrick: 0-3

Bracken County

Augusta: 2-0, with one game remaining @ Bracken on Friday

Mason County: 0-1

St. Patrick: 2-0

Mason County

Augusta: 0-0

Bracken County: 1-0

St. Patrick: 1-0

St. Patrick

Augusta: 3-0

Bracken County: 0-2

Mason County: 0-1

It looks like Mason County is the obvious favorite, with Bracken County the number two choice, followed by St. Patrick and Augusta. I think the other three outside of Mason could beat each other on any given night, though. The draw is huge, to say the least!

Though I appreciate the effort and research on this post, it's impossible to say who's better between Augusta, Bracken, and St. Pat this season. I've seen each play numberous times (often each other), and at the risk of using a cliche, you can throw records out the window between these three. They're extremely even, and if you throw out a dry stretch here or a hot streak there in any of the games already played, you're looking at a 3-5 point thriller each time.

No disrespect to anyone else in the region, but I challenge you to find a more exciting first round district game than whichever of these two teams match up following tomorrow's draw.
