Augusta comes out strong with a 20-8 lead after 1. Deming would battle back in the second and out score Augustsa 18-14. Augusta with an 8 point lead at the half. Deming would still come out fighting outscoring Augusta 21-17 in the third. Augusta holds a 3 point and the two would match points in the fourth 13 apiece. Hats off to Deming on fighting hard and never gave up. Augusta was lucky to hold on, had a lot of turnovers in the 2nd half. Good thing for the Panthers was Deming would match them on their end.

Augusta would have to go into the bench after a few players getting in foul trouble early in the first half. Big game from the “BIG DOG” Chris Mofford posting a double double 11 points and 13 rebounds, also added 4 block shots. Way to come off the bench big man.

Augusta was led in scoring by Matt Groves with 18 points

Dustin Staggs added 13

J. Hardymon 9, B. Hamilton 7, S. Cummins 3, T. Krebs 2, J White 1

Augusta improves to 9-10 on the year

JV Game was also won by Augusta 55-42

Chris Mofford led the team with 18 points and 7 rebounds

Ty Krebs add 13 points and 6 rebounds

R. Kelsch 8, B. Hamilton 6, J. Gray 4, J. Crouch 3, M. Saunders 2, S. White 1

Jv team now 8-5 on the year

I am still trying to figure out what was worse tonight:

The Augusta 2nd half offense and decision making

or

The Officials

This year you could say the officials about every game you watch.

I really think they help decided the outcome of this game..

GOOD WIN FOR COACH KELSCH AND THE PANTHERS

Ohhhh, ok I see where you are getting. Tough one Officials or 2nd Half Offense...............I'd say both are about the same.

What was worse tonight?

The officals were bad, but they were bad against both teams.

I still think Augusta's bench is the key to the success of this team. The Jv plays more as a team at times. When the Varsity struggles to put up points the bench players have stepped up. They also seem to protect the ball better. They kept the team in this game.

Congrats Panthers, good luck against St. Patrick.

I think White had more than 1 Pride.. He hit the 2 FTs on Moffords Offensive Goaltending...

I think I am right, I have him hitting 1 of 3 for the game. I do make some mistakes but it added up right.

I may be wrong Pride, but I thought he hit another one.. My mistake

Josh White only had 1 point, Pride is accurate.

Does anyone know who were the officials for this game? Has the BBA slipped that much lately? I have read a great deal of posts that are complaining about 10th and 11th region officials.

I will PM you TubbyCat.. Mod wont like me posting names on here

This Augusta team just puzzles me so much. World beaters for a half and then just as much the other way. A plus to stay with it and win when it's on the line. But it's takes 4 quarters to beat truly good teams. Augusta's capable, just don't always put 4 together. Congrats on the win and Good Luck with St. Pat.
