  1. Seems Coach Robinson has went back to his roots and is installing this in the Jacket squad. No reason with the teams they are playing that the Orange and White should not win 12-15 games this season. They have some talent and if they work together the results can be positive.
  2. Sometimes kids get injured and can not give you more than they have. I am sure none of the Corbin Kids layed down and came out of this game due to being soft or whatever term you would choose to use Football 80. Same as the kids were too babied thread weeks ago that was removed. NCC was the better team tonight. They won fair and square. Until the Hounds can find a way to get more kids involved in the offense and more kids involved in the football program in general. The results will be the similar. Not enough kids are willing to come out if they have to go 6 days a week, 5 hours a day from June til Dec. What do you think would have been the outcome of the contest tonight if Josh Crawford, Josh Smith. Madison Johnson, Isaac Wilson and the injured players would play football? Pretty clear to me. Lighten up and see if more kids would be willing to be there in December when you need them. Not to discredit any of the player who played by the rules, but it could have been even better with a little compromise.
  3. Me neither. But it is early and I am sure the Campers will right the ship. Coach Pennington will be at practice in the morning...........and I bet the Wildcats will be needing some running shoes. Just hope Erin Andrews and ESPN does not show up on 830.....lol
  4. Good win for NCC. Great season for the Hounds. Nothing to be ashamed about. The better team won tonight. Who would have thought that this group of Hounds could have advanced this far losing as many talented players, especially Cashen, as they did last year. Hats off to Coach Jewell. Injury to speedster Ryan Fritts and still 13-1. If the Hounds can ever get all the athletes in the school to play football it would be scary how well they could do. Best of Luck to NCC in the finals.
  5. This one could be considered an upset. Williamsburg was playing without two contributers serving suspension and still pulled out the road win over the Wildcats. Monster game by Jacob Teaque of the Jackets with over 30 points. Lynn Camp is playing without Cody Mobley who is still recovering from a knee injury. Both teams will improve as the season unwinds. Congrats to Coach Robinson.
  6. Hard fought win for the Hounds on the road against district foe Whitley County. Both teams will improve once they get their full teams on the floor and get a few games under their belts. Big game from Josh Crawford to lead the way for Corbin.
  7. I think after watching several Corbin games this season a pass to the tightend would be classified as trickery....lol The only ones I can recall have been in games where the margin of victory were established early on. Of course, I would love to see them get a chance, but this late in the game it is a gamble at best IMO.
  8. When did passing to a tightend become trickery? Smart coaches make use of the tightend each and every game at least once a quarter. I can not see why two kids with as good of hands as French and Manns have not seen any love thus far, but it is hard to argue with the results. How many touches have these two got all season? Seems far fetched to throw them the pigskin now when the stakes are so high. Both are well schooled in the art of blocking by now, so why change a good thing.
  9. I would say the Wildcats would be a double digit favorite over the Jackets as well. Lynn Camp has some very good players and they are experienced. Once they round into basketball shape the inside game of the Wildcats will be hard to handle.
  10. Seidel is what I call a Throwback kinda player. Does not really pass the look test, but boy when the ball goes up and they start keeping score he can play the game. I would take him on my side anytime.
  11. I agree, Coach P has things going in the correct direction at Lynn Camp. Any early predictions on the Wburg and LC game Breeze?
  12. Colonels get the first of many wins this season.
  13. GRC will need to stop the Seidel kid from North Laurel. He can score points and gets alot of things done. Wardroup is another athlete for the Jags. I would take the Cards by about 12 points at home. 77-65.
  14. We can only hope the bloodlines are still running deep in the present day Hounds and they can have a shot to play for all the marbles. Seems winning maybe genetic as well.
  15. GRC will be fine. They like Corbin will only get better once they have all their players back from football, injuries, etc. It was one of those perfect storm kinda things. Guess you had to be there to believe it. Maybe these two teams will get a rematch in the Sweet 16 if they can both win their regions. You have to remember there is alot of basketball to be played between now and the state tournament.
  16. South Laurel's gym always looks great. A true showcase of their basketball history. Banners, pictures and always very clean and neat looking. You can tell the successes of the Laurel basketball program as soon as you walk in the door. It is one of the few venues in Southeast Kentucky where you can tell this is a basketball school is proudly displayed.
  17. I think he is referring to a tradition of smash mouth football and not much finesse from the mountain area. New Cath is no doubt a very fine football team and has been for many years. Corbin will bring a slightly different approach to the contest and one the Breds will certainly step up and challenge. It should be a fine game this season as it was last year when the Breds came out on top. I would expect a nice crowd on hand Friday to support the Hounds. Many former players will be on hand to rally the Redhounds to the next round. If Corbin can manage the clock and move the chains they could pull this one out. In this game, a good offense could be the best defense for the Red and White.
  18. Biggest thing Corbin needs to believe in is each other. There are many out there that want to rip them apart this year. Regardless if Crawford, Johnson, Manns, Smith, Wilson or whoever scores the most on a given night, the end result is a Redhound win. I agree, Wilson is a very good player for the Hounds. But the same can be said for any of about 7 ot 8 kids. A true team, works together, plays together and wins together. I recall this group of Hounds beating South Laurel on their homecourt by 26 points in December and then standing on the sidelines watching the Cardinals cutting down the nets at Knox Central as 13th regional champions in March. Corbin has a long way to go. The only way to get there is with hard work and total dedication. Is ------- the reason the Hounds have won tonight or is it simply they had the better team in November. Only the members of the team can make that decision. Basically the Corbin team has all the parts. It is up to them to see how far they can advance.
  19. Corbin at Whitley Williamsburg at Lynn Camp LCA at Clay County Dunbar vs Knox Central at Clay
  20. Campbell Field Corbin,Kentucky 7:30pm Folks need to look at the brackets and see how things are set up this year.
  21. Not sure If I can make this one or not. My Cousin Kevin "Bloody" Wilson ( you may have seen him on Ytube) will be coming in for Thanksgiving. He is the Aussie son of my Uncle Radcliffe, who moved overseas in the Arm Services years ago. I have not seen him in a long time and we have lots of catching up to do. I will go as far as taking the Hounds in a squeaker 23-21. If I can talk Kevin into braving the winter weather we will be there in person. You all have to remember it is summer in Australia so he is not prepared for this temperature. Should be a real Cat and Dog fight on Friday night regardless of who wins.
  22. Hounds have had more than their share of injuries and breaks this season. Goforth plays the game hard and full speed the way it is supposed to be played. Really hurts me when kids who really want to play get hurt. What is the line of treatment? Will it heal with a cast or some type of surgery be required?
  23. I was told Goforth may have broken a leg. Not sure on that, but that was the word.
  24. Was this a Crew from the Lake Cumberland area?
  25. Long game. Cold outside. I thought the Jackets would put up more of a fight. Maybe LCA has improved that much since I saw them play Corbin.
