  1. Whistles are not going the Colonels way. Time is running out on them as well. South will live to play another day.
  2. I figured Coach Pennington would have a solid gameplan for this game. I think he is one of the up and coming coaches in the region. He plays and coaches an exciting style with lots of freedom for his players. It would not surprise me at all to see a larger school within the region to become interested in his services very soon. Knox is avery solid team and could win the region riding the horse known as Cody Miller.
  3. Live by the three and die by the three as the old saying goes. Sounds like the Wildcats could not get a shot to fall late in the game.
  4. You may get a job with Espn and Vitale if you keep that up Hank.
  5. Protectin the Saint might be going on according to the radio guys I am listening to.
  6. Sounds like the Cats got tired or Knox Central turned up the defense? How did Mitchell do for the Camp? He needed to have a big game for the Cats to win IMO?
  7. I thought this was about his 6th year or so. He has been to the regional 2 out of those years....not bad for Lynn Camp. I would say anyone with less than 10 years experience is a young coach. Not sure on his exact age. I would say late twenties to early thirties if I were guessing.
  8. It would make Mountjoy Gym roar if the Colonels can pull the upset of the three time defending 13th regonal champions. Colonels may be a year away from being the top team in the 50th district. One thing is for sure, the Colonels will have the support of the neutral fans in attendance tonight. Everyone likes the underdog come tourney time. Many here have noted the tournament experience on the sidelines and the playing floor for the Cards and that may very well be the difference in the end. Whitley will be pumped early and if they can maintain that level of play for 32 minutes then they will give themselves a shot to advance. One thing is for sure, South Laurel will not quit, then will keep coming til the clock runs out.
  9. Opening Boys game of the 51st tonight in Barbourville. Knox is a solid favorite for this district and one of the top teams in the entire 13th region. Lynn Camp is a very talented group with one of the most energetic, young coaches in the region at the reigns...who advances to the regional tournament in this matchup. My head says Knox Central but by a much closer margin than the regular season battle at Bimble.
  10. I would say the Jags and Tigers are locks for the regional tournament. I think Lynn Camp had beaten Williamsburg about 10 straight before the Jackets got the win early in the year. I guess what I was saying is that the Jackets are no longer any easy game for anyone and they are making progress.
  11. Should be a good game early. Look for South to live to fight another day. It would not surprise me to see a rowdy crowd from the Colonels, this may propel them to the upset. South seems to know too much and their run will continue as they win 67-50. Late free throws will be the pad for the final margin.
  12. Congrats to Williamsburg on finishing the season strong. Cunningham, Teague, Williams and the other seniors were good young men and represented the school well in my opinion. Wins over Jellico, Pineville and Lynn Camp proved the Jackets are back on their way to being competitive with most schools their size.
  13. Ok, must be another Queen song you are referring too or something else. Another one Bites the Dust? Bubba is not a smart man but he knows who Queen is...lol:jump:
  14. I thought you mentioned he liked Queen as type of music in an earlier post. Maybe Bubba is getting senile in his old age. Look back at your posts and see if I am correct. No disrespect to Roscoe. A bit of humor is sometimes needed to maintain sanity.....where has yours gone Les? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not sure he likes your type of music. You've been singing the blues the past couple of years, while his has been more of the Queen-type music. LOL Maybe I took this out of context.
  15. Yes, this is the time the True Warriors survive and the others fall or run for cover. Grab your weapon and jump in the Foxhole....incoming....lol Hope the lessons of the regular season allow each team to use the experience to perform at their best. A wise man once told me...Experience tells you what to do, but Confidence allows you to do it. This old bird is still on the sidelines today.
  16. Hounds are playing well. I think the players are on a mission. Maybe South Laurel did the Hounds a favor this year instead of breaking their hearts. Of course, I did hear Coach Denny humming we are the Champions by Queen while scouting one night at Gillium gym. He was sitting next to me in the rafters and I would have swore it was Freddy Mercury himself....the man never misses a beat or an OB under play either.
  17. Cards destroy Rockcastle tonight who Whitley struggled to beat earlier in the week. Things are not looking good for the upset than many are wishing for on Tuesday. Hounds seem to still have the hunger in their bellies and took care of Harlan tonight. WBurg got a big win on the road at Red Bird Mission. How will things shake out in this whacky 50th district race. Call the Fire Marshall to insure the capacity is not the limit. Wear a short sleeve shirt as well, the heat will be on full blast in the Yellow Jacket Nest.
  18. Hounds subbed begining the 4th up over 40 points. Young pups finished up and Coach P rests the big boys for the upcoming game at Wburg.
  19. I would take a wild guess: 49th: Clay County winner, North Laurel runner up 50th: Corbin winner, South Laurel runner up 51st: Knox Central winner, Barbourville runner up 52nd: Middlesboro winner, Harlan County runner up 1. Corbin 2. Clay County 3. South Laurel 4. Knox Central 5. Middlesboro 6. North Laurel 7. Harlan County 8. Barbourville It would not surprise me to see Bell, Whitley or Pineville in place of one of the teams listed above as well.
  20. Wburg is about 15 points removed from being the number 2 seed this year. I think they lost to Whitley by 5 and 6 points and had a 2 point game with South at home. Funny things can happen in the post season. I am sure there will be a Sea of Orange on Monday night.
  21. I hope they get to play. Sounds like the Flu is running rapid in Harlan County.
  22. Glenn Napier is a good one. Called the 13th last year and was miles ahead of the others. He seemed to be very focused and tried to call it right down the middle. I think he had the Championship game if that tells you about his abilities.
  23. I will take Wayne County to win the region. I would enjoy seeing Rob Jones make the trip, he is due some good press and deserves to get to Rupp. My head says Coach Woods and the Cards in a very balanced region this year.
  24. First team to 50 wins. I take Harlan County 54 Whitley County 49. Colonels need to find some offense quickly if they hope to upset South in the district.
  25. First winning season in a over a decade for the Colonels. Looks like the addition of Coach Sears had put them over the top this season. The Colonels could be a sleeper for the 50th this year and the clear cut favorite next year as well.
