gchs_uk9 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Not a surprise. Not sure who Corbin's opponent will be, though...:sssh:

My Two Cents Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Good win for Corbin, especially considering that it was on Williamsburg’s home floor. Most everyone had shifted their focus to the Whitley County and South Laurel game, and I thought that Corbin might forget that they were playing a very dangerous team in Williamsburg.

Alot of times home court is a huge advantage, but in this case the talent level of Corbin by far overcame any home court advantage. Corbin should be on a mission that ends at Rupp.
Bubba Wilson Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Congrats to Williamsburg on finishing the season strong. Cunningham, Teague, Williams and the other seniors were good young men and represented the school well in my opinion. Wins over Jellico, Pineville and Lynn Camp proved the Jackets are back on their way to being competitive with most schools their size.

Williamsburg is in a tough situation being in the 50th district having to compete with schools much larger, not to mention that South Laurel and Corbin have arguably been the best two teams in the region for the past three years. They have been making progress and competed well within the region this year with everyone except Corbin.

Lynn Camp BEAT Williamsburg, 75-71,:sssh: at the Jackets place this season.:ohbrother:

FullMetalJacket Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Corbin is very talented, they can make some decent teams look very average...Maybe the Jackets can build on this season but they will have so big shoes to fill next year...
Les Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Williamsburg beat Lynn Camp at Lynn Camp this year as well. Dang, I'm losing it, me and Bubba are both losing it. But thanks 4CHS, it looks as if you're finally on top of your game again.
Les Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Bubba, do you think Red Bird can pull off the upset against North tonight?
Bubba Wilson Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Bubba, do you think Red Bird can pull off the upset against North tonight? I would say the Jags and Tigers are locks for the regional tournament. I think Lynn Camp had beaten Williamsburg about 10 straight before the Jackets got the win early in the year. I guess what I was saying is that the Jackets are no longer any easy game for anyone and they are making progress.
