Ryle has one of the better defensive backfields that I have seen play this season. Take a look at their numbers. Their turnover ratio is huge, most of which are interceptions. They also disguise coverage very well. Not to mention, I watched Cov run Iso right at Highlands with sucess. I am not sure that Highlands had the defensive interior to stop Ryle's running game this year.

Doubtful. However, Ryle is not from Louisville. Therefore, they shouldn't have to win the region from Louisville to get to state.

So next year when their eleven will have to be competing against Highlands and Cov's eleven in the playoffs there won't be a difference? Come on, that is backward's logic. Number definately have a direct implication on talent in a program.

Congrats on seeing all three play, however, if you think that Ryle would get drilled by Cov or Highlands, you haven't seen them play lately. They are peaking at the right time.

That is the exact position on Ryle's football team that makes me think that they can compete with Trinity.

The draw of when the teams play is going to hurt the turnout as well. There would be a lot more people for the AAAA game if it was simply on Saturday rather than Thurs night from both Louisville and NKY.

Vince Murray didn't scrimmage against Cov. He was healing an injury.

Boone's defense was no where near good enough those two seasons to compare the two.

I think Trinity does more with as much, but I don't think that the Rocks can claim less. Less division one atheletes yes, less depth of excellent college prospects at every position, no. Lets not forget about a plethora of athletes at Trinity that don't play further at any level due to feeling burnt out. How many players on their team couldn't be at least competative D3 players?

I would say that at this point in the season, it would be neck and neck between Cov and Ryle. However, I think the Dixie team from 2004 compares talent wise to this year's Ryle team. I just don't think those kids were as tenacious. At the begining of the season, Cov was the best team in NKY.

How does it expose ethics? Will it be unethical every time the draw comes out with this scenario? That is like a gambler saying it is unethical that he rolled snakeyes just because the odds are 36-1.

That greatly depends on level of competition. It also greatly depends on personal statistics. A divison 3 football player shouldn't win this award over a division 1 football player just because he rused for 2000 yards this season against poor competition. BTW, I am not thinking of anyone when I say this, I am just giving a scenario.

I agree that they have not played a team with Trinity's balance. I also know for a fact that Trinity football team are NOT soft in any way, nor have they ever been. My claim would simply be that this will be a hard fought battle between two well coached football teams with different philosophies. However, Ryle is very good at disguising and changing coverage. This is an area in which Male and Henry Clay were both lacking in every reguard.

It shouldn't be too big of a problem. Anyone that was going to show up from Louisville should still be able to make it. Everyone that was coming from Union will make it reguardless. However, it might hinder attendence that would have been there from other teams in NKY.

Your right. I apologize. Male beat St. X, then Trinity beat Male. My mistake. It shouldn't be a problem however having to win your own region before you move on to the finals in the playoffs.

They did have to play Male and St. X in consecutive weeks.

I was agreeing about how absurd some of the times are that are posted on this site. I have never heard of so many 4-4's in my life. The Raiders will be ready to fight a battle. Despite what a lot of people from Louisville think, the Raiders are not physically outmatched in this fight.

Murray ran a 4.61 at the Cincy Combine. I will agree about absurd times. Murray is very powerful, but his open field speed is impressive. However, Ryle is not a faster team than Male, but they do have very good team speed.

No they are not. However, they are better coached defensively, and they give a lot more looks in their defensive backfield.
