Congratulations! Does anyone know if any schools closer were recruiting her? Buffalo is a long way from Russell Ky. Any reasons why Buffalo over someone else?

As far as the Middle School lack of games goes. Around 1994 the middle school administrators wanted to go to intramurals so all could play. They compromised in a way. They made a rule of no cut and everyone will play at least a quarter (jr. pro style). They also cut down the schedule. Therefore, if you had a son that was pretty good and you could afford to send them to a private school, you did. The ones that went did well, the ones that stayed behind were not given the opportunity to get better. If you look at the time when Lexington was producing D1 player after player it ceased when the middle schoolers that were dealt a bad hand by the administrators, with above said rule, entered high school. Hoops in Lexington hasn't been the same since.

One thing that you have to have from your players is respect and confidence in what you're doing. They have to buy into your system and have confidence in you as a coach. With what you say, it sounds like the players have doubts and that is never good. I still say he's protected by Roy.

What side of the ball do you think they are weak in coaching? Offense, defense or game adjustments?

Who is going to replace Danny Hope? As long as Roy Kidd says that Hope is the head coach, he will be. In Coach Kidd's hey day most of the topnotch players were from Florida. i.e. Danny Hope..............Today EKU doesn't get the second rung players that U of F and Florida state don't want. Most of them stay at home at UCF, So. Fl etc.

Go on a great trip with Southeast Christian Church of Louisville every year. 150 guys head to Morristown TN. and play different courses in the area for 4 days. 18 on Sunday, 36 on Monday, 36 on Tuesday, and 18 on Wednesday. Players are placed on teams and play different formats on Monday and Tuesday. Fantastic trip with a devotional led by a minister of Southeast at the end of the day. I look forward to the first week of June every year.

John High has made it public that this is his last season at montgomery co. Who do think are the front-runners to fill his shoes?

Joe Thompson as well as Chamberlain, Goins and Taylor also understood the flow of the game. You can talk about time stoppage etc but I'll take a ref that understands when to make a call and how many calls to make. Most refs think that people in the stands came to see them blow the whistle. The above mentioned guys knew/know that they need to blend into the game.

Probably is the same. John went to Morehead and has coached at least Whitesburg and currently Montgomery Co. Great guy.

MTSU has great facilities and a very steep tradition in womens basketball. I hope she has good luck with Insell the head coach.

I agree totally with ladiesbballcoach..................... The real problem with the money lies in the KHSAA itself. If they wouldn't have a commissioner for every sport and assistants for each commish, they could save a tremendous amount of money. Probably the most ridiculous expenditure that they made was the taj mahal that they built for their offices. If you went to class systems for hoops then the poor KHSAA would have to live in a "lower class."

1989.....Bryan Station vs. Warren Central on Friday night. Bryan Station is down 2 with 30 seconds to play and they're inbounding the ball on the side in front of their own bench. Michael Allen takes a three from the left side misses, BS rebounds passes to Michael again, he misses, BS rebounds kick it out to point guard who rotates ball to Allen again for a three, he misses, Nimbo Hammons gets rebound on weakside dribbles to the wing and skips a pass to Allen, HE HITS and BS goes up one. Warren Central calls time wth 9 seconds to go. BS intercepts inbounds pass and wins. I know this isn't a girls mesage board but this one is too good. West Carter is going to win their first ever state championship and Kandi Brown is on the line with seconds to play, there is a sub waiting to enter the game for her. She hits both and leaps into her Dad's arms. That would be the one and only Hop. They embrace forever and enjoy the moment.

Best ex-official is Joe Thompson. If all officials had the same demeanor as Mike Goins, John Chamberlain, and J.T. Taylor there would be less problems between officials and coaches.

Berea hired a guy named Todd Baldwin from North Greene High School in Greeneville Tn.

These should be posted at every high school athletic contest all over the state. Maybe the KHSAA could actually make a decision that would make sense and make these mandatory for all schools to post.

The locker rooms are extremely nice. I used to be a D1 assistant and they rival any place I've been in. The biggest problem I see is that when the players are recruited they will more than likely have to go to facilities that aren't as good as those they had in high school. A lot of those players are not D1 and they will be disappointed in lesser facilities.

Agree totally with previous post. Most AD's say that they want the same of everything for the girls and boys but they really don't. An AD's dream is for the girls to go to the finals of the region and lose. It cost too much for the team to go to the state tournament but they get a big check from the region.
