  1. Male is only able to get kids from two middle schools. The days of them getting kids from all over Jefferson County is over. The biggest plus at Male is a weak district that starting next year includes St. X and then two very small schools in Brown and Collegiate. However, they are a long way from Ballard, Eastern, Trinity, and a few more teams they would have to beat to get to the state tournament. The glory days at Male could very well be over.
  2. Whomever allowed this to happen should lose their job.
  3. Getting players from all over Louisville and Southern Indiana is one thing, but Paintsville? Are you kidding me?
  4. It would be nice to see everyone in Jefferson County playing by the same rules.
  5. Let me say this. They are making an effort to get the best kids from the JCPS middle schools. Explain to me how they got Shaw (whose brother is a star at Seneca) and some of their other highly regarded freshman/sophomores. To say Collegiate has the talent X has is absurd. This was and will always be a huge upset.
  6. The athletes St. X has on the court are plenty capable. Let's be honest here. Collegiate may only have one player that could make the St. X varsity roster. However, they kept the pace in their favor, played defense and rebounded, and made a big shot when it counted most. Upsets like this one are why Kentucky will never go to class basketball for the post-season. I'd say there will be a celebration at Collegiate today!
  7. In the re-alignment St. X keeps Collegiate in their district, but replaces Manual with Brown. Could it be another giant killer moving in? Brown has a few more boys than Collegiate!
  8. Are you kidding? It does make a difference to those kids at Collegiate to be the first in the history of their school to get to the 7th Region Tournament. It makes a difference to the St. X kids that have to go face their peers tomorrow after a tough loss. It matters to a lot more people than you think.
  9. This makes five years in a row that St. X has lost in the first round of the district tournament. Last year they were ahead by a bunch of points late in the game and still found a way to lose it.
  10. No it's not a misprint. Has to be one of the biggest upsets in 7th Region history! Collegiate will be making their first ever trip to the 7th Region Tournament.
  11. It may take some time to get used to, but this alignment looks much better in terms of evening out the regions. The only thing I thought they should have done differently is made the southern region the 6th (it borders the 5th and has most of the current 6th region teams in it) and the northern region the 7th.
  12. Jeffersontown went undefeated last year in JV. They were supposed to be a have a stable full of athletes and be able to go all the way down to the last man on the bench without much drop-off this year. Looks like they are fading just before they hit the stretch run of the season. Maybe all the controversy and negative press in recent weeks is causing a distraction.
  13. The previous coach didn't teach at Shawnee. Their administration wanted to go a different direction and get someone in the building in the hopes of improving discipline among the players. Not sure if they have made any strides in that area or not.
  14. Shawnee is playing a team full of sophomores. They struggled big time last year and graduated about 95% of their offense and rebounding. You do the math. The coach has very little to do with why they aren't winning.
  15. No Jeff Morrow fans out there? Anywhere?
  16. He is indeed a very skilled player. In my opinion he gives the ball up too much at times. I have seen a couple of games where he was unstoppable, but would go stretches of the game where he would pass it and never touch it again. He has the ability to totally take over a game and will make someone a nice player at the next level.
  17. Out of control doesn't even begin to describe it. A select few seem to be able to do anything they want and everyone turns a blind eye to it.
  18. It wouldn't have been interesting had the transfers not shown up! I will leave it at that.
  19. So you want us to believe that Coach Coldiron has forgot how to coach since last year? He took them to the finals of the region - a very tough region at that! He does a super job at Lafayette and has done a super job everywhere else he has been. I haven't seen Lafayette play this year, but I can guarantee you that Coach C hasn't made one turnover, missed any shots, or made substitions to lose the game on purpose. The players win the games and the players lose the games. Right now Lafayette's players aren't doing enough to win and that's the bottom line.
