personally, i really find it hard to be mad at coach lively, i mean Powell offered him a much larger contract than Jackson could have. However, he shouldnt have promised his team he was staying unless he knew for sure he was. But I can understand, he is just doing what s best for his family.

I'll take a stab. You count the run good as the out was a tag, not a force. Had 5 stepped on the bag, before or after other runner crossed plate, run would not count.

Congrats to Wolfe Co. on a good win. Our Tigers hung in there and tried to keep things going all the way to the end. A good effort by Jackson's freshman pitcher Gentry Hayes. In a big game, he stayed cool under pressure with 7 strike-outs. Congratulations to senior Chase Thompson and sophomore Jackie Clemons on their homeruns.

Did you have a gun on Stamper, or are you guessing? I know he sure makes the glove pop and I wouldn't be surprised if he were in the 80's, but I wasn't going to try to guess a speed. He struck out 13 at jackson city and 16 at breathitt, and had maybe one walk. He definitely stands out.

No, this Steve Banks coaches at one of the elementary schools in Breathitt County. He is also Breathitt School System's Transportation Director and serves as a commisioner, along with Breathitt School Superintendent Arch Turner, on the county fiscal court.

Flash, are you saying that Banks IS the new coach?? I know Hall resigned and have been told by 3 people around town that Banks is in but don't know for sure. If that is the case, and nothing against Mr. Banks, but this would be a prime example of Breathitt Co. politics at it's finest!

Region 14 All A championship was played at Jackson Friday night. Jackson led throughout.

Over the course of my basketbal career I have noticed basketball brings out the best, and the worst in players. For example in the 55th district championship game when Fugate shoved Bush, or when Gilbert shoved Thompson. But for Cody Gilbert to come out and openly congratulate the team that beat his team in the District Championship took alot of class. And I agree, I think the future will be very bright for Gilbert.
