The best one has to be the Marshall County Hoopfest. If you want to see some of the better teams in the state and the nation this is your best bet. The only negative is the location. Then the 5/3 comes in a close second.

Sounds like we are talking about lofton 5 years ago and we all know how that turned out.

Mason 20+ This is a going to be a statement game for the Royals.

Sounds like the Royals really struggled from charity stripe and had some trouble with transition D.

After the onside kick Russel had one the safety playing right up behind the Lb's. Whether it appeared they where in man or not is not the issue. The issue is #12 had a 10 yard cushion from the corner and safety was practically in the box playing run support. If the safety falls back into zone coverage Mason still has an easy 10 yards from the slant before the safety even gets close.

I would have done what the Royals did twice when they scored. Put the ball in the hands of #12. He was beating the corner all night on that slant pattern. When safety started to creep up into the box he had the corner one-on-one and beat him like he stole something. The on-side kicks where perfection and takes alot guts to call those plays. My Question is, why take that big risk only to go conservative in Russels territory. Maybe, my view was a little better from the stands. One thing I want to make clear is that i'm in no way doubting the amazing job Buchannon has done in making this Mason County team into a legitimate contender every year. It just seems to me when Mason gets in a tight game they get away from what is working for that particaular game. The run wasw nit there in the second half, especially up the middle and Mason was not gonna beat Russel to the corner. Russel gave Mason the one-on-one coverage and Mason County failed to recognize that.

I was at the 50 on Masons side and the Russel kid flat out muffed it and Mason recovered. Mason County owned the air all night, but when it came time to capitalize the went soft and ran it into the teeth of the Russel D. Explain to me why you kick an onside kick, recover it, and then call 3 straight running plays on the opponents 40. Getting really used to this type of play calling in big games.

It seems i turned you on to Houston. I will venture to say that Hopson is right there with Miller. I watch Darius play alot and he's a really good player, but can't sit there with a straight face and tell me he is a better ball player thatn Lofton. I don't care about upside. If you are so sure of your opinions then submit a pole to find out who all the BGP'ers think are the best players to come out of Kentucky since Chapman. I get credit for Houston even though you probably won't admit that you completely forgot about one the best ever.
