10th Region Class A

Who wins the 10th Region Class A?

Its going to be interesting. Everyone is focusing on St. Patrick and Deming who are two very good ball teams. St. Pat loses two in a row, Deming loses to a Pendleton Co. team that Augusta beat a night before by almost 20 points, which they led by 25 at one time.

Does this open the door for Augusta, who had Deming down 14 going into the 4th quarter before blowing it, St. Pat outscored Augusta by 15 in the first quarter I think and then beat them by 15, so that means Augusta played with them for 3 quarters.

Also, dont forget about Bishop Brossart, they are still the champions until someone beats them.

It should make for a lot of fun in January.

St.Pat plays @ Deming in the Play-in game and the winner of that game gets Augusta the next night.

What are everone's thoughts?

One of the most interesting Class A tournaments in years!!!

The 10th Region "A" Preview, ala the Bracken County Holdiay Tournament, will be held this coming week.

Brossart will play St. Patrick, Augusta, and Deming in that order at 3pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

By the end of the week we should all have a better grasp on the 10th "A" situation.

With that said, the real 10th "A" isn't played until late Janaury, and there is much water to run under the bridge between then and now.

Regardless of who wins it this year, it will be cause for major celebration for the victors. For the first time in quite a few years it might not be the Brossart Invitational, but I have a strong feeling that Brossart will have a big

say in who makes the trip.

It's a pretty wide open as far as the All A goes. Mustang is right, we'll get a better feel for things after next week's BC tournament. I'm really looking forward to it!!!!!

I'll go with Brossart. They always come ready to play when they need to. :thumb:

Thats true...they also have a good coach. :thumb:

And they have won it a time or two recently. :D

Wouldn't be a huge upset if Brossart were to step up and win this again; but in reality St. Pats, Deming and maybe Augusta (recently) would have to be considered the favorites. If I remember correctly, St. Pats & Deming meet in the first game, and Augusta is on that side of the bracket as well; so only one of them makes it to the finals?

The favorite still has to be St. Patrick, because from last check they have not lost to an All A 10th region team!!! Beating Deming 78-72, Augusta 71-55, and Silver Grove 79-43. Only reason Brossart should be named in this is because they have won it in the past, but not this year they don’t have the horses, and there overrated coach wont is able to get them to do it. Code is overrated, his teams are supposed to compete for the tenth region championship, and he can’t even do that. They struggle to win the District.

But back to this years tourney. The winner of the Deming, St. Pat game will represent the tenth region, which would make me happy to have a real tenth region team win and not a Northern Kentucky team!!

What planet are you on? I believe Brossart has been one of the strongest teams in the 10th in the recent years. Brossart is just as much a 10th region team as any other in it. The teams that were moved by the state to the tenth region have acquitted themselves very well since they have been there. Both Brossart and Campbell Co. have regional basketball titles since they were moved into the region. Brossart's record in the All A speaks for itself. Don't bad mouth them for their success...... just get better yourself. OUT!!!

I think this is very reminiscent of the local scene, in recent years, that is. Augusta, St. Pat and Deming can beat each other on any given night. I'd have to wait to see what part of the roller coaster ride Augusta is on before I said a favorite.

Are you kidding me? Overrated?!??!?! Brossart competes year in, year out with the big dogs. What other 10th "A" team does that? Code has done more with less in the tenth than any other coach lately. When the top teams in the tenth over the last ten years, Brossart will always be in the top three or four... The three teams that are consistantly in the top, other than this year, are Brossart, GRC, and Mason... Give me a freakin break about overrated. Brossart struggles to win the district, yet has pulled it off the past two years. Most likely because they are in the toughest with Scott, CCHS, and Corey Pelle Big Trains the last couple of years...

"Overrated" Code is one of the best coaches in the tenth region, and IMO, will lead his Mustangs to do the same thing they've done the past FIVE years and win an All "A" title....All he did last year was win a state championship, no big deal though...

Overrated???

I’m not kidding you, and I live on Earth!! Brossart should compete with the big dogs, because they are big dogs, which under achieved against the big boys when it counts. Good for them that they can beat teams they should beat!! But even with Brossart talent, and size they cannot compete with Clark, Pendleton (when they where good), and Mason!! Toughest district, what!!?? Silver Grove had a decent team last year, but there done. Scott what have they done, nothing!!! Code I’m afraid to say is not one of the best. Give that talent to almost anyone and they could win, and probably get to a few more ten-region title games!!! The fact is Brossart has wasted away their talent!! Good they have won the State All “A” title, which really means nothing!! I’m sorry but is that game played at Rupp, no, do people all over the state take off work to go watch it no!! So, with that in my opinion, Brossart is always overrated till they actually do something when it really counts!!!
