  1. What led you to this desicion?
  2. Do you know Timmy? I dont think I would post about his attitude if I didnt. I thought Timmy played very well last night and made Colt work for everything he got. He had several deflections that resulted in steals for Elliott. While I think Colt is a very good player, and no doubt about it a college player, Timmy is going to play in a major conference and be one of the most highly recruited kids in the state the next 2 years.
  3. Elliott's boys schedule has been tough. They may not have played the top teams in Ky but I really dont see why it matters where the team is from as long as the competation is equally as talented, which is has been. Four games against quality opponets at the BBC, #1 preseason team in WV, Anderson Co., potientally could have the All 'A" state tourney and are still trying to work out a game with another top 10 team in the state. Plus, they played two scrimmages against top 20 teams in the preseason. :thumb: Now that we got that over with, the girls played well in this game. This is a team that is very dangerous with their ability to score/shoot the basketball and creates extra possesions with their defense. This is a team I would not want to play come tourney time.
  4. The boys also are a favorite in the Class "A" state tournament and must leave room on the schedule in case they make a run to the finals in Richmond, granted they make it.
  5. Colt is a very good player, but Timmy is just as good. They guarded each other and I think each had 18, so I wouldn't say Colt outplayed him in every aspect of the game. Colt got some while Timmy was sitting in the third quarter just like Timmy got a few while Colt sat. Both played very well tonight. Both players have a bright future if they continue to work hard.
  6. Good guard play will take you a long way in high school basketball. :thumb:
  7. What does it matter what state a team is from as long as you are playing quality opponets. Playing against a out of state opponet that is equally as talented as the top teams in Kenucky helps prepare you just as much as playing top teams in your own state. A win against a top 20 team in Kentucky, in the regular season, does no more to help you win a state title than beating a top team from another state. :thumb:
  8. While most Elliott Co fans has stated they feel Elliott Co is #1 in the state at this point, very few have predicted a state title.
  9. I think very few have predicted Elliott Co to win the state.
  10. More interest? Please let me know how much interest he is drawing. Can you let me know who is recruiting him? BTW, Ferg is 6'2 and will play the 2 in college. :thumb:
  11. I think after you lead the state in scoring the previous two years, the defense will ALWAYS be worried about you. Don't you think after Ferguson scored over 20 in the first half that the D predicated on stopping him? BTW, I would like to see the answer to the previous questions I asked(see post #44) if you have them available.
  12. Ok. How many shots did he shoot? Did he attempt any free throws? What did he finish the game with? How many minutes did he play in the game? If Ferguson had played the entire game he could have scored 60, or maybe more. This kid is an unique talent who can shoot/score with anyone in the country. I don't know for sure who is recruiting him, but he will have is D1 options. Wait and see.
  13. EC isn't going to win every game by 40 points. Just as every other top team in the state, they are going to have games where they don't play as well as they can. Great teams find ways to win those games, just as EC did last night. Hats off to West Carter for giving it all they had a causing EC some problems. They will be a tough out for anyone come tourney time.
  14. Earlier in the season, Ferguson had a game where he scored 41 points on 24 shots. He played 21 minutes that night. Also, he had 0 free throws attempts. You show me another player in the state that can put those numbers up and I'll show you a D1 player, I don't care who the opposing team was.
  15. Your right about it being their second loss but wrong about what kind of team they are. They are better than what you think they are.
  16. I have said it since last season that Ferguson is the best scorer in the state of Kentucky and I haven't seen too many people around the country that can score the ball like he does and I have watched a lot of AAU basketball. He will have his options after this season to play. We have to remember that he still has almost all of his senior season left to impress the coaches. I can assure that he impressed several coaches this past week at the Beach Ball Classic.
  17. Pickerning was a very good team even though their record at the BBC doesnt prove that. They got unlucky and ran onto some very good teams. They were 70-2 last year and heading into the game with Elliott Co were 26-4 on the season. They also can play 5th year seniors. Now, with that said, who should be #1? As Eta has stated Holmes has done a lot to prove that they may be the #1 team in the state. I think Elliott Co is just as deserving and has proved that beating several very good out of state teams and taking care of business with who they should beat. I dont think either is a CLEAR CUT #1 but I do think that you could draw those 2 out of a hat, at this point, for the #1 ranking with Scott Co, J Town, and Eastern just outside of those two. March can't come soon enough.
  18. Myrtle Beach would be atleast top 15 in Kentucky. They are 4-6 because they lost their first five games of the season while their starting five was winning a state football championship. After they got their football players back, Elliott Co was their first loss. By the way, they are the defending 3A state champions in South Carolina and return 4 staters. Preseason #1 team in 3A according to the coaches of South Carolina.:thumb:
  19. How many of those teams offered to come to EC and play in Sandy Hook?
  20. Elliott County has 7 homes games all year, so I don't think EC is worried about playing away from home. Also, EC plays in the All "A" and must leave room on the schedule in hopes of making a deep run through that tourney. People should also keep in mind that EC isn't always a top team in that state. They can't sign two year contracts(which most games have a home/home contract) with every top 10 team in the state and leave next years team to be destroyed every game they play. Also to do that would require EC to drop a lot of 16th region teams which will provide a good challenge for them in years to come.
  21. According to Rivals, CH is rated the #64 team in the country.
