AAU is way of getting kids involved at an earlier age in all sports. Every weekend in Louisville at Hoops or Mid America they are playing. I think AAU has rally enhanced girls basketball. I think that is why you are seeing a lot of 8th graders having major impacts at the High school level. Cierra Rickets has been starting for Fairdale since 7th grade.

I think all sports are year around now. If you choose Baseball you can play year around. Kids are playing year around in basketball at all levels. Battle of Borders at Mid America this weekend started with 10u all the way through 14u.

Whats wong with him going to UL? They are recuiting him. UK and UL get blasted for not signing Lofton. I would like for him to stay in state. Also Former UL assistant Vince Taylor went To Duke. I believe he played at one of the Lexington schools(Tates Creek?)

With this argument, shouldn't he just give the student the ticket.

Coaches sell their tickets all the time. If you cant use them why waste them. The key is if they are turning the money back in.

There are no such thing as complimentary tickets. Schools have to buy all tickets. If they are selling their tickets that the schools pay for above face value and get cauhgt they should be fired.

From the angle on the video it just looks like a swing. You cant really tell if its his fist or forearm. It was definitely flagrant.

Male lost games and was not aloud to play in the LIT. last year.

Male has to count the KOB as one game. They played in 5th/3rd and played 5 games. They played in the Toyota classic which is a tournament, Plus the LIT. They are right at 23 games or 24 depending how you do the 5/3rd being 5 games. BTW, Male was penalized two years ago for too many games. I dont think they where aloud in the LIT last year.

Had 19pts tonight in a 62-57 upset of Butler. Fairdale now has wins over Butler and Iroquois the two favorites to win the region.

Ballard doesnt play again til district. I think Male has over scheduled. If you count two tournaments with a maximum of 4 games as one, do you have to count a tournament with 5 games as individual games. On the KSAA website it has Male as playing 5 games in the 5th/3rd. That would mean the KOB and the Toyota Classic would only count as 1 game each. The rest of the games would be counted individually and I count Male with 24.

PRP needs to get Benson healthy if they want to win the 6th. He had a nasty dislocated Toe in the Butler game and they lost. He did not play vs Holy Cross and PRP struggled.

Everyone is back now except for Lee McGee who was sent to a boarding school. Bunton and Skeens played last night. Also Ridge Wilson is back and playing. He was not on the team at the start of the year.

According to the Courier today. Rivals has UK's class at #54. What would concern me more is they have UK's Class ranked 11th in the 12 team SEC Conference. However, Rankings make for good discussions. It really doesnt matter until 3 or 4 years down the line. UK Signing 28 kids, more than likely half will never make it 4 years. The same at UL and other schools.

A former AD in Jefferson Co. told me he was interested in Central back in early December. I didnt believe him. He also said that the Central job would open up. The main reason for considering leaving Male was difficlulty getting the players he wants. He also said the major drawback at Central was the class the are playing in next year. Now the Central job is open. I dont see him taking it but nothing surprises me.

Im hearing because he is having trouble getting kids into Male. Its very hard to get in outside the traditional program. Im sure some do but not like they used to. The demand to get into Male from the traditional middle schools is high. He goes to Central he will get any athlete he wants in. With the new law suit that Central parents won a couple of years ago, there enrollment will start increasing and should be able to move up in class.

The word around Louisville is that Male's Bob Redman wants it. I can't see him leaving Male.

I like the Hearld leaders ranking better than the Courier's. Lafayette is 7-8 and ranked 16th. They win two games and jump 4 spots from last weeks #16 ranking. I have nothing against them but the Couriers ranking doesnt take away enough for losing. I think your schedule should be considered but losses are losses. Desales got in to the LIT with only 3 wins. I guess because of strenth of schedule.

Ballard captures LIT title. Twanny Beckham is the tournaments MVP.

Fairdale 66-63 over E-Town, Ballard was up 20 on PRP late in 4th. Also Male has lost Dexter Heyman possibly for the year with a broken foot. Did not play tonight.
