I know this is a little early but the game is really just around the corner. Both teams seem to be playing well right now and both teams have excellent coaching staffs. I figure Bell remembers the shut out on Log Mtn last year in the regional championship game and wants a little revenge, while Rockcastle has loads of talented senior players. This has the making of a classic and will be the first match up of the year between these two. The other will of course be for the district championship. A lot at stake for both of these teams because the winner will get their first two playoff games at home. My prediction: In a slugfest, Bell 22 Rockcastle 14

I would take the Bragg kid from Clay over any other in class AAA. He does all he does in a passing offense. The Qb averages over 400 yards passing but Bragg gets over 100 yards a game. That is impressive. I would take the kid from Leslie and the kid from Lynn Camp after Bragg. I know that they are playing in 2A and A but they are still more than solid.

This will be a great game. I plan on being there and I hope it lives up to all the hype. I will say Breathitt 20 Harlan 22 However, I hope Breathitt can pull it out.

That is ridiculous. I have been a fan of 14th region football for a long, long time. If Friday's game is decided by anyone other than the two teams on the field and the KIDS on the field then I will have lost a great deal of respect for LCC and for the 14th region officials. How in the world can clay county or anyone else be blamed for officiating that took place a year ago ? Your comment is really out of line.. I expect the best team to win on Friday and that is that. Good luck to both teams and let's hope that adults do not try and decide the outcome of a game played by children.

3wishes, You are a Rockcastle fan. I follow the 14th region but I know that Clay is in your district. I want to ask you two questions. How does Clay match up with the powers in your district and question number two, how would Rockcastle fair in our district with Knott , Cawood, Breathitt etc... How would Knott do against Rockcastle and Bell ?

I would say that since Knott gave one away last week against Sheldon Clark and the fact that Clay has to go to Knott and face the 14th region officiating crews, then Knott should win the game easily. Bobby Owens will run all over Clay and Knott will shut Clay down. I look for Knott to beat Clay by at least 24. Knott 48 Clay 24

Wow, Why would Cov Cath ( a great football tradition ) want a coach who ( from what you guys have said ) looks down his nose at KY football ? I am sure MANY Kentucky coaches would love to have the opportunity to coach at Covington Catholic. Perhaps they looked in the wrong direction when the hiring took place. A good rule of thumb is to hire those people who WANT to be there and want to get better. Just my thoughts on a situation that I know nothing about.:thumb:

What is Coach Allen's background ? Is this the same guy who was coaching at Pikeville College a couple of years ago ?

Lawrence is always going to be a threat in baseball. I can only hope that they get things turned around in time for district and sectional play.

Coach B is a solid choice. He knows the game and he would be the ideal candidate to take Rowan back into district competition. Good luck Bill and best wishes to you and the vikings.

Interesting question. Clay threw it all over the place this year and South has the Bowling kid. Clay had a freshman Qb and so did South. Clay was a running team and switched over to become a passing team. Could be an interesting hire. Question may be would Clay's coach consider South Laurel. I thought that I read that Clay was going to be tough in the future.
