NDA had freshman playing JV last season because they were very good. The JV team won the championship and most of those players could play varsity in many other schools. It is just a very competitive situation. Who knows what is coming in from the freshman class. The coach made a decision which was for the best interest of the program and right or wrong that is her job. As far as a new policy no coach would declare a junior will never play JV and I doubt that happened here. It just appears this year no junior will be on the JV team.

CHCS81 it is tough for everyone, and nowhere in my post did I agree or disagree with the decisions made. I simply wished those girls involved the best.

It is a tough spot for the girls involved and the coaches who have to make these decisions. Not sure it is now "new policy" but it is something the team needs to put behind them and get ready for a very tough season. Good luck to those impacted because they are really great girls.

Don't forget to mention the best fans are in the 9th Region!!!!

With or without Brasseaux, Boone is the favorite to win the 9th in my opinion. I don't see Ludlow on the radar. I watched Ludlow play several times last season and honestly they appear to me to be 20 points behind the big 9th region hitters. (Boone, Highlands, NCC, Conner, NDA, Holmes) I do see this season being a much closer race than years past when NDA and Boone dominated so it should be fun to see who is hot during regional play. And as far as 9th region POY predicitons there just isn't a truely dominant player so that should be wide open as well. My best guess would be Behrens but only if she and her team has a great senior season.

That good point guard needs to look to score this year and allow Cundiff to rebound if they are to be successful. Both players are good and without the outside threat the inside will be shut down. Behind every good big player is a solid outside threat.

How about asking for a Regional title. I agree that Conner has made great strides but until you win the region no one seems to notice.

Regardless of who wins the 9th Region, I hope they go all the way this year. Northern Kentucky is well over due for a state title in girls basketball. Good luck to all the teams.

I agree it is a good assessment. Strength of schedule and who is ready come Region time will be the key. Early season victories and inter region play as usual will be meaningless. Can't wait to see it unfold.

Any of these teams will be hard to beat if "they pull it all together". Boone, Highlands, NDA, Holmes, NCC, Conner. Look how Holmes got itself together in Regions last year and almost ran the table.

Honestly some Seniors earn their respect and others simply don't. Be sure to follow the true leaders who have the teams best interest at heart. This is not meant to be a slam on anyone or any team previously mentioned because I know nothing of the Boone situation last year. Leadership carries a very heavy weight of responsibility.

Mellisa did a great job with the team she had. I would challenge any coach to take that situation and do better. I watched them play several games and every player gave 110% and improved immensely from the start of the season. High school ball is not all about Wins and Losses. Losing Price to graduation and Sneed to whatever is a whole lot to replace in a small program. Those two scored about 90% of the teams points in 05'.
