  1. I was talking about Hill
  2. Good point....I forgot to mention that...Hill is absolutely awesome, but you can see him struggling right now. He is definitely hurting. He still gets quite a bit done. But mentally he looks frustrated a lot, knowing he needs to do even more and seems to be hampered. As a group, they just look defeated when things don't go there way....they used to just step it up a level....I do wish them and all the teams the best.
  3. No one has mentioned Ludlow...is there any possibility they beat HHS? Havent' seen them play, but I keep hearing the Pennick kid can at times take over...
  4. The same....in talking with one of his teammates, he reiterated that Chuck was on the frosh team, but was marginal at best. His work ethic put him at the top within two seasons. George Schloemer was another who was unnoticed as frosh and even soph during the CCH 5 year reign, then ends up with a scholarship to play at UD I think....(I keep going backwards in time....) Bob Pettit was cut from hs team as a soph...the rest is history....
  5. This is not to say anything is certain in the future based simply on the past; nor is it an excuse. However, it is relative to note that in the world of select baseball, as the kids get older, many of the national caliber teams broaden their recruiting, acquiring stud pitchers who literally fly in for one outing then fly out...this team of 11 local kids (9 at CCH, 1 at Scott, and 1 at Conner) competed head to head with much success. They repeatedly made it to final 4's and final 2's...and ran out of fresh arms. Winning trophies was not their focus...improving, learning and facing the best competition they could find in preparation for h.s. was. They do not carry a 16 man roster like many of their competitors. The national title was an awesome accomplishment...but their budget and their priorities will make it difficult to repeat. BTW they did add another nice player for this summer from NC...Pabst I believe is his name.
  6. it was corrected from initial post....
  7. That's impressive!!...you've got too much time on your hands.. I was just trying to find an overview like that...thanks...
  8. thank you for clearing that up....
  9. Not 100% sure, but I believe you have it reversed...know for sure soon....
  10. Don't know all the stats, but Jacobs was leading rebounder I believe. You are correct, if they played stronger inside they would be a big favorite!
  11. Agreed. I've said all year that Hill is more talented than he realizes. I know he has had some big games...I just think he can dominate every time he walks on the floor. Especially if CCH big/skinny men go soft....
  12. I'm truly happy for the Raiders....only saw them play at US Bank game vs CCH...looked discouraged from the first tip...Cov played real well, but Ryle seemed to have much more talent than they showed. Good luck !
  13. Unless something changed....5:30 and 7:30 Monday and Tuesday,,I don't know if they still clear the gym between? Similar times for Friday, usually don't clear the gym between the semis....finals Saturday night
  14. Congrats to Ryle! Didn't come close to callin this one. Thought BC was coming together. Predicted Boone to win the district and make some noise in region....Anyone see it?
  15. The 9th is supposed to draw Saturday. Games start Monday Tuesday...then Friday Saturday..
  16. There's one more to keep an eye on.. Ryan Darner...played with the same group..hit 3rd thru 5th...beautiful stroke...a little shy...may need a year to get comfortable..but this kid can hit!
  17. Haven't seen Holmes since the changes in roster....this is a great game and a tough call,. CCH didn't play real well vs HC..credit the Inidians...but, they are a much better team since the last game. CCH by 8.
  18. I was misinformed...my bad...congrats Raiders
  19. Looks like all eight are in: CCH Holmes HHS NCC Boone Conner Dixie Ludlow Thoughts?... Winners: CCH HHS Boone Dixe Run Ups Holmes NCC Conner Ludlow
  20. I just think you gotta play three games well. If you play #1 on the first night or the third night...what's the difference. Plus, coming in as a lower seed isn't a bad thing...the favorite may look at it like you do and bring their b game... round one is a great night to catch the supposed top dog(s)...-with that being said, I agree that Holmes, CCH and HC want the title...
  21. In reality, the district champion title means very little (maybe a slight edge in first round), however, Holmes is far from an absolute second place. With or without Rice, they will be tough to beat. If Hill ever realizes how good he is, he could take over...but I do like the Colonels chances against whomever at this point. Tuesday will be fun!
  22. I'd like to see some of these kids go back to work and come back the next year instead of jumping schools or quitting the sport. Not that I fault them for their personal decision...I just remember guys like Chuck Berger, for example, who I think was very average as frosh...either didn't play or got cut, was all state as a senior on one of cch's better teams. (1970 ish)
  23. I have heard no one make such claims. Both of those young men were, and would be welcomed at CCH!!! (Can you imagine adding them to this year's mix? ) Anyway, they made a decision they felt was best for them....period. No one pushed them out or claimed they couldn't play there. That's silly. I hope they both continue to have great success...they are both good kids who work very hard on their games. The maturity level in this thread is questionable tonight at times.
