As much as everybody is showing the love to the Offense what about the "D"? The only TD/Points that the 1st team defense has given up was the receiving TD by Ryle on the very 1st play of scrimmage of that game.

As we were up on the Pressbox standing with the Ryle Coaching staff waiting for their game to be over with, the play of the game IMHO was the fumble on 1st and 10 and I believe on the 15 yard line with about 1:30 to 2:00 to go in the game and the RB from Henry Clay fumbles the ball without even being touched by a Ryle player, when that play happened and Ryle recovered the ball, you knew that Ryle would win the game. Great day/night for NKy Football with Ryle and CovCath both winning down in Lexington.

Back into the old......memory bank In a home game and I don't remember who we played but there was some confusion as to what color uniform CovCath was to wear. When the visiting team arrived they were wearing the same color or close to it, as CovCath was wearing. So I along with a another member of the team were told to go back and get the other set of Jersey's for CovCath to change into. We were given a set of keys and were told to hurry......Well....when we got back to CovCath from Holmes High School where the game was being played at, we found out real quick that we were given the wrong set of keys. Now remember this is 1967, there are no cell phones, so we just broke into storage room, got the Jersey's, took then back to Holmes and then told Coach Rasso what we did to retrieve the Jersey's, he laughed but Mr. Payne the AD was none too happy with us but Coach Rasso told him that it wasn't our fault that he gave us the wrong keys! Really after the fact, it was quite funny but back then, I was certain I was going to get kicked out of school!

Got to tell you that as a member of that 1st Varsity Football team in 1967 and as one who sold those World's Famous Chocolate Bars so CovCath could have Football, to think what CovCath has today, would have been impossible for us to even dream about, back in 1967.
