I think the good ole boy network will essentially work against Lamar in this one. I'd guess all of the teams that have the capacity to make a deal like this will shy away from the guaranteed $ side of the negotiation for the best interest of the owners. I think we'd be less than honest to think that there hasn't been collusion to the point of resetting the market for good. I think that the owners likely would want to consider Watson the outlier never to be approached again, contractually speaking.

If I had to venture a guess, he will play on the tag alone this year, no trade, no long term deal. Just my feeble guess. I don't think he will sit out. He's left them in a power position and I think they've obviously exercised it. I can't see anyone giving up 2 years of firsts and the guaranteed $ he is seeking. Maybe I'm wrong and he won't sign the tag.

Is the NBA Falling Off?
spindoc replied to Adrian Woj Burner's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
Not that this means anything, but I pay for league pass, and watch way too many games to have to get up and work the next day (west coast ball is the best). But I love the NBA. I follow it more closely than the NFL to be honest. I used to only get deeply interested around the middle of March as the playoff push commenced. I understand the load management part. I also understand all the old schoolers crying foul. Different mindset these days. None of it will keep me from being tuned in. -

ESPN ranks the Reds farm system 5th overall. 5. Cincinnati Reds ($276.5 million) Last year: 20th, $166.5 million Top-100 prospects: 4 The Reds made a big move up this list after trading a number of veteran big leaguers in an effort to create a wave of young talent to help them compete once again. The second and third prospects on their team list are the headliners in the Luis Castillo trade, No. 4 prospect Cam Collier was last summer's first-round pick, and four more players who rank in their top 10 were acquired in the past 11 months. All of those players except Collier should be in the upper minors this season, so the Reds could be interesting again soon.

Stop, they look like nurses outfits from the 50s. If you thought the Steeler bumblebees were bad, these are equally appalling As for the game, this Steeler team offensively doesn't have enough room for error and yet, there's at least one wholly ignorant call from the sideline each and every drive. Flea flicker? WR sweep to the end with an uncovered defender. It's math. And I don't know if Pickett has the flexibility to check out of certain things or even if he recognizes them. Jeez. This team is just bad. Congrats to the Bengals.

Without looking it up, it seems funny how over the years they have split and those wins for each were on the road. -

He had laparoscopic surgery to remove appendix last week. I'd guess one more week. Only Hines Ward is tough enough to come back for the next contest. -

Jim, I’m with you. But we are at the bottom of every offensive category. Can’t stop the run or the pass. The Saints were depleted today. TJ will help, but no Minkah and no Myles Jack spells doom. Bengals should easily airmail them by 2 scores. -

Sounds like the rain will be out of here by game time, but the wind from the coldfront might make me stay home and watch the link above instead of sitting out in it for this one. -
