Shining Star Sports will have a number of teams there. Should be a great event as always. They will be using 3 locations this year. They have added the Basketball Academy to their facility list.

Scott Schuette should be mentioned as one of the top players. He has had a great summer and will really emerge as one of the top scorers for Lex Cath with the graduation of Vee Sanford.

Sawyer Williams has been very impressive this summer! He is a very strong and athletic young man. Nice shot blocker with a great work ethic. If he improves his mid range game and gets better from the free throw line he will make some noise for the Owen County team.

Not a chance. Decent player but not a top player in the region.

Neal Pawsatt should be listed in the top 5. He will suprise a lot of people this year with his ability to score the ball and be one of the better defenders in the 10th region. I would love to see them go that route but will Popp be able to crack the rotation? He sat most of the second half of the season last year. He did not appear to be in good graces with the Boone coaching staff. There were also a lot of rumors about Popp choosing to go to Ryle High School next year. Don't know if there is any truth to this rumor. I think he has a much better chance of playing at Ryle than Boone.

Corey Pelle shot over 55% from the field his senior year. He was a complete player that could score, rebound, pass and defend. I am pretty sure that Corey led the conference he plays in assists this past season. He averaged 17.4 points per game, 5.6 assist per game, 3.9 rebounds per game and had 87 steals in 30 games at West Liberty this past season. Blake is a good player but no where near the class of Corey Pelle. Blake is very one dimensional in my opinion. Pelle was much more athletic and one of the better defenders in Northern Kentucky.

That is correct. Zeke Pike, Neal Pawsatt, Jordan Gilbert, Jake Geisler and Trevon Brown all have to be in football after the Eddie Ford Hoopfest. Not easy to play with out your 4 biggest players.

Adidas chooses the teams that they would like to participate in the tournament. The Shining Star Sports-McFarland, Shining Star Sports-Pittman 16u and the Shining Star Sports-Pittman 15u team will be participating in the event.

Zeke Pike was at the Kentucky QB camp. Nick Gray injured his leg and will be out for a while.

The Shining Star team is still together. Graduation, injury, vacation and QB camp at UK. They are done with their schedule until the Adidas Take 5 in Cincinnati.

Shining Star Sports 15u and 16u teams were in Fishers Indianapolis for the Fieldhouse Invitational. Both teams lost their final four games. The 16u team only had 6 players for the weekend. Played well but ran out of gas.

Why was Fangman playing with Team KY? Was he not a Bulldog?

Is Jack going to be playing with the Firebirds the rest of the year?? I was told that the Bulldogs picked up another Northern Kentucky player to add to their roster. Travis Montgomery of Boone County High School. Travis is a solid addition to their roster.

The Firebirds were one of the biggest suprises for me at the KY state tourney. They were a very good basketball team. Really liked watching them play. Grubbs is a BIG boy. Very hard to guard in the post.

I had not seen him in a while and was very suprised how much he had grown. Nice size and quick with his moves. I liked what he can do on the court.

Nice breakdown. I agree about the guards. I think their best two guards are Trammell and Barnett. Both of those kids are exciting players. I would have the two of them on the floor the majority of the time getting brief blows from Flesch and Allen. Trammell is by far their best offensive player and ballhandler and Barnett has such a nice shot with a very quick release.

Who do you think is being played out of position?

I really thought that they were making a big mistake not keeping Matt Trammell on the floor more than they did. He is their best player in my opinion and he seemed to sit a lot. They become much easier to guard when he leaves the floor. Who are the coaches of the Bulldogs? Any coaching experience?
