Ohtani pitches 5 no-hit innings and doesn’t return to the mound for the 6th. Phillies score 6 in the top of the 6th. Ohtani later belts his 50th homer but the Phils prevail. Safe to say that this is a first. You stake your team to a 4-0 lead with a bunch of no-hit innings and hit your 50th dinger and your team loses. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that it will never happen again. In unrelated news, sleep is overrated.

I honestly can’t remember if it was the coaches or the ADs. Both groups obviously would have a vested interest.

Good stuff to consider, but as you intimate, money (and travel to a lesser extent) are difficult issues to navigate. And RPI is probably not the ideal tiebreaker.

Mine had 670. I guess that would have made us 6A in The Bluegrass State.

Agreed on all counts. A couple of your district opponents stink, so you have to balance it somehow. Playing the best NKY teams seems like the best option. SK often takes a lot of heat for scheduling BW. It’s a long drive for them to even find another 6A team, most likely a drive to the ‘ville. Nothing wrong with playing the best in the neighborhood, and maybe developing a great rivalry or two along the way. And as always, preparing your team and your players for an extended postseason run is the ultimate objective.

Week 3 starts on Thursday with a massive mismatch on paper. Miami at Buffalo.

Chargers are playing a little defense and Herbert doesn’t have to throw eleventy billion times a game.

Chargers win 20-9.

Game 2 coming up. Chargers at Vegas. Chargers are a 3.5 point favorite, O/U is 46.5.

The 7:00 game starts out with a bang, 7-7 roughly halfway through 1. Not like last night’s contest so far.

If I had anything to say about it, Burrow wouldn’t play the rest of the regular season. Try to scratch out a 9-8 record and then take stock of things.

Sounds like fun. My better half taught middle school social studies and health (including sex education). Fun times. The story that sticks in my head is the answer she got on one of the scrambled words sex ed quizzes. The word to unscramble was inpse. The answer was snipe.

Surgery on injured toe. Mid December return at the earliest.

That didn’t age well. Minnesota was beyond putrid, losing 22-6. Some guy that joined Atlanta yesterday was 5-5 on field goal tries.

Tonight’s game looks good on paper. Falcons are a 3.5 point dog at Minnesota.
