I treat my phone as much or more like a PC then I do a phone.

I've had both. Started with Apple, switched to Android 3 years ago and would never go back. I hate iTunes. I hate the restrictions that Apple builds into their stuff. IMO from a hardware standpoint, Apple makes a superior product. From a daily operational standpoint, Apple is probably the easier to use phone. The biggest advantage is that Android gives you so much more tech freedom. If you want the freedom to use your iPhone for the tech stuff like I do you have to jailbreak it. Even then you don't have the flexibility of an Android phone. Android is much more like having a PC in your pocket. I can connect to any computer at anytime to transfer data to and from my phone. I don't have to have iTunes controlling my every move. MrsC is all about iPhone. She got the BOGO on a couple of Apple 8 phones a month or so ago. She talked me into trying one. I gave it a week, and hated it. Went back to my Android.

Here you go GT. Took me a minute to find it. Most of my recipes are packed up for moving. Try this: This is a delicious steak marinade that goes well with beef, pork, and chicken. You can cut the recipe for smaller batches, or use half and put half in a mason jar. It stores well in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Ingredients 3 1/2 cups pineapple juice 1 cup soy sauce 1 cup dry Sherry 1/2 cup red wine vinegar 3/4 cup sugar 2 tablespoons minced garlic Directions Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Add up to five pounds of meat to the marinade. Ideally allow meat to marinade for 4 hours at a minimum. Up to 24 hours is best. I typically add meat and marinade in a ziplock the night before and let them sit in the fridge.

Green mountain makes a heck of a pellet smoker, you can't go wrong with it. The other one I would recommend is Camp Chef DLX. It consistently makes every top 10 list and is actually on sale at Home Depot right now for $499. I know several people who own both, and they all love both. Camp Chef stand does not seem to be as robust to me. Went through this with 4 boys. There a handful of elite athletes that will get a full ride. For the vast majority of the rest, it is all about being a total package. I used to lecture my boys and all of their friends about how important grades were. Sometimes I feel like MrsC and I raised 20 or 30 boys and not just our four. When they entered high school I worked hard to convince all of them that from this point forward everything counts. It sucks but your future starts hinging on what you do from this point forward. It follows you around forever, and can either close doors or open them for you. If you want to play college sports, it is much easier to put together a package at a NAIA or D2 school then it is to get something at a D1 school if you take care of your grades. Even non-scholarship schools will find you a lot of extra academic money if you are an athlete. A good athlete with good grades will have a lot of options.

Home button is on it's own ribbon. I'm betting whoever repaired it didn't get it seated. Tell him to take it back to where he had it replaced, I'm sure they would pop it open and fix it. Would take them about 3 minutes.

There's a whole bunch of stuff that can cause that. Both hardware and software. I'm not sure which quick fixes you have tried. 1. Turn your phone off. 2. Take your SIM card out. 3. Take a Q-tip with a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol and clean the metal side of the SIM. 4. If you have a can of compressed air like you would use on a computer key board, blow out the SIM port. Otherwise you can just blow it, just make sure your mouth is dry, you don't want to blow moisture in. 5. Pop your SIM in and out 4 or 5 times. This helps clean the connectors inside. 6. Power your phone back up. If that doesn't work. You could have a loose or broken antennae. You'll need to take it to a shop.

The phone fixed is worth $225-$375 depending on how many gig of memory it has. Get it fixed. Whether you sell it or save it as a backup is up to you. I do agree most people should not try to repair their own. However, the new ones are not nearly as hard as the older ones. The cost of replacement screens has dropped dramatically. A new screen is $23.00 the guy I know charges $25-$30 to put one in.

Check on Craigslist for Iphone repair people. There's a bunch of people that do them pretty cheap. Especially if you're going to use it as a backup phone, you can get a used screen put on that may have a couple of scratches but no cracks, and still functions perfectly. I've had them replaced anywhere from $20 - $80. If you can't find anyone near you. There's a guy in Lex who runs a little shop called Iphone Repair. (Really original name) He doesn't always answer the phone so sometimes it's better to text him 530-349-0030. He'll typically give you a quote over the phone. If he has one and knows you're coming. It usually takes him 15-20 minutes. He's on South Broadway.
