  1. I just saw the score as well. Do you know where you can get a box score for this game? I would be interested to see how many hits, Ks and such were in this game.
  2. Thank you. I figured he would go back to his Alma Mater. He had been inching that way by staying in the SEC IMO. He went from being a head coach at a smaller Division I school and being successful there to an Assistant Coach at Florida then onto Kentucky. Good luck to him, he is a great coach and a great person. He has been successful wherever he has been. Also, congrats to Cory. May he be successful in whatever he chooses.
  3. If you read Mountainthunder's post he says that they (IN team) are a good team. He was talking about the WV teams not being so good.
  4. With the rising cost of gas can anyone seeing KHSAA possibly changing the format of the playoff system? There are teams that are taking a bus for 2 - 2 1/2 hours to play ONE game and then on top of that they could do that 3 nights in a row plus paying an entry fee for the parents and students (6 and under are free) at the amount of $7 for semi-state. I don't have a problem with the set up but I do think changes need to be made where the teams are going to be playing closer to home.
  5. I thought it was a very good game. Martin pitched very well. He is done on the mound for Harrison Co because he pitched 7 innings correct? When I mean done I mean in the 3 game series. I also thought West Jessamine ran themselves out of this game. It could have gone either way if the kid running from 2nd did not get thrown out at home and then if the ball did not bounce right back to the catcher to throw the kid out at 3rd. Sorry I do not know any names of the players. I hope the game on Saturday is as good as this one.
  6. Sorry, I have not lived in the state of Kentucky for a long period of time and what I was considered south I guess is not really the south. You are right that the western part of the state is much better than the majority of the state. I also agree with you that Allen would still have great numbers but IMO nothing like what she has up here with the K's, perfect games, wins (maybe this stays the same), shutouts, etc. Like I said before in my earlier post I have only seen Allen play so I can not make a judgement on who would be Miss Softball. To me I think someone would have to look at the competition that they play against everyday and try to compare with what the other players play against everyday.
  7. I am not trying to take anything away from Allen because she is very impressive but my question is, would she still be this dominate IF she lived in the Lexington/Louisville area? I think one main reason her stats are what they are is due to the fact that she pitched in NKY where fastpitch is still in the beginning phases. Fastpitch for the most part in NKY is AT LEAST 3 years behind the majority of the state. I find it really interesting that slow pitch is still played in NKY and no longer in the southern part of the state and I think that shows on where the better softball is. I have not seen any of the other girls mentioned on this thread play besides Allen but I have also seen the competition she pitched too in NKY and for the most part it is not very good and I think that is evident with all the records she has. I will probably get some negative posts on my views of NKY softball but this is only my opinion. I have also seen, played and coached in national tournaments in states like Texas, California & Colorado and what type of softball I see (especially the coaching) is very poor compared to other parts of the state which I have seen in the pasts years.
  8. I never said I hated them so please don't assume something that was never said. I do not have a problem with Harrison County. I would like to have Scott win as that would be a bonus for the district that they play in.
  9. They cleared the opponents score and made it look like a no hitter was thrown against CC while leaving the Harrison Co. score up. Just curious if they do that with all the games they win?
  10. I will say that the game did have a great atomsphere. I won't call the field the best though (I know you did not call it the best). To me the outfield could use some work. I do have a question for a Harrison person. Do you always clear out the score of the opponent that you beat?
  11. There were some questionable calls during this game and the strike zone changed in favor of Harrison County for a couple of innings. With that said you can't win a game when you have 7 errors that to me is the difference in the ball game.
  12. ...and all I was saying is you never know what might happen. I understood what bred was saying.
  13. I don't think this is going to happen. This Campbell County team is more focused than I have seen in many years. But like someone told me on any given day and team can be beaten.
  14. Campbell County beat Scott 3 - 1 tonight.
  15. I think the wind helped some of the homeruns. The wind was blowing hard during the game and then completely died in the CCHS vs. Silver Grove game.
  16. What time did the parents come for a 7:00 game? If I am not mistaken NKY got hit between 6 - 6:30 with the rain. Some people are always going to look for something to complain about. I just think it would have been difficult to get umpires for a game that was originally scheduled for 7 to be here by 4:30 for a 5:00 game. It is not like there is an abundance of umpires to go around.
  17. If you know so much about this then why don't you explain it. What time was the game suppose to be at Campbell County? 7 I think. Do you know where the umpires were coming from? The rain hit CC around 6:30 or so and the game would have been rained out. The reason why I ask about the umpires is if the game was moved to an earlier time would those umpires be able to get to CC for an earlier game? Most of the umpires CC uses are not from NKY but from further south like the Lexington area.
  18. It is in the 60's and 70s in February in most of the southern states. Spring sports usually start their conditioning and tryouts almost right when they get back to school from Christmas vacation.
  19. Is there a possiblity that Hensley would be going to Ludlow?
