  1. I wish Jason the best of luck this season. Good kid playing on a good team. KCC should raise some eyebrows this year.
  2. Riley Hendrix at Leslie Co. is probally the best hitter in the mountains. He is a clutch hitter. If you are the opposing team and the game is on the line, he is the last person you want to see coming to the plate.
  3. I am so glad to see this thread. I thought I was the only one that felt this way. The local TV station does a great job covering football and basketball. If you notice most of the football and basketball players play baseball. I'm sure if you were to ask them they would say "please, at least tell our scores on TV and come and film our team when you can". I agree 100% about coaches needing to get the message out to the media about there team. Thanks pat dad for this thread, maybe someone will see it and take notice.
  4. Who was the QB that got the win?
  5. Belfry can pick a score and go for it. Belfry - whatever they want SC - 6 only because they score on there JV
  6. Thanks Pat Dad. I love the game of baseball and the 14th region has a bunch of great kids.
  7. The 14th region is loaded with talent. You can mention names all day long and someone would say: Oh, I forgot about him, he's a great player. It's hard to name everyone that deserves attention. However, the best way to prove yourself is on the field. I think several players in the 14th has done that. I believe Leslie's players are complimented alot because they do have talent on there team. That's not saying the rest of the teams don't have because they do. For example, Hazard. You have about three or four players that will play college ball somewhere if the choose to. Perry Central. They have three or four college prospects. Lee Co, Powell and the list goes on in the 14th. Leslie is probally going to be the favorite to win the region this year and rightfully so because of the returning seniors. Hendrix is one of the best players in Eastern Ky and he should be. The people that know him say that he plays 80 90 games a year and has been since he was 13 years old. They also said he has received around 15 lbs of letters from colleges all across the nation. Because of this it helps the 14th region and other kids that will get looked at because of him. I've talked to Hendrix and he always brags on other players and never mentions himself. The other players are always better than him in his eys. I'm sure that the 14th region this year will recieve alot of respect from the boy's down in the flat land. Who will be the one to make it all the way? time will tell.
  8. After the horn has blown and the smoke clears all the players will shake hands and give hugs and high fives to each other. This is what makes this game so great. It teaches honor and respect for each other. The dicipline that goes into a game like this is uncomparable to any other. The players will trash talk, sneak in a punch or a pinch hear and there. Complain to the refs that so and so is holding me, or playing dirty. But again, when the horn blows, they will shake hands and congradulate each other on a very good game. The truth is, this will be the last game played by several seniors, whether it be Leslie or SC. Leave it on the field, play your best game and you will always have the wonderful memories of that last game you ever played. Have fun, cherish the moment and let us fans enjoy a wonderful night of football. May the best team win and when you wake up on Saturday morning you will either say: We beat a good team last night or We got beat by a good team last night. Katrina
  9. I would like to see Midd. pull the upset. However, it's just not going to happen. If Midd. can get out of there without getting embarrassed they will be lucky. Midd. 0 Belfry - what ever they choose
  10. Danville will continue to roll this coming Fri. night. It will be an easier game than you might expect. Danville is getting better as a team each week. Listen to your coaches and you will be fine. Danville 21 Holy Cross 6
  11. This will be one of the better games come Fri. night. Russell will be overwhelmed by the defence in the first half. This game whether you accept it or not will be a toss up. No blow out here on either side. If you don't have a special interest in a particular game and you want to watch two very good teams play smash mouth football, travel to this game and you want be sorry. Mercer 21 Russel 20
  12. Lynn Camp has not looked back since there loss to Leslie Co. in the game opener. This very well could have been a loss that served many purposes. LC is very solid and has a very good chance to make it all the way to the carpet. LC 35 Paintsville 12
  13. Coach Koogler will have Leslie Co. ready to play come Friday night. No disrespect to Breathitt but this was not there year and may not be for a long time. That being said, you can't judge how strong SC is against Breathitt. When SC comes into Hyden they will have the mind set other teams have had all season, (there not as good as people are saying). When they leave they will be saying, (there better than what people are saying). Leslie will have to lay down and quit for SC to beat them. Will they do this? We will find out Friday night. It's Leslie's game to give to SC. All I have to say to the Eagles is: REMEMBER BELL Leslie 35 SC 12
  14. Leslie - Howard Knott - Owens
  15. I've watched Hendrix and Couch both play. The games I saw they both were very good. After the game I saw both these players talking and laughing with each other and having a good time. I'd bet if you ask Hendrix who was the best player he would say Couch, if you asked Couch he would say Hendrix. This is what makes this game great.
  16. Timmy Baker of Leslie Co. will be the best catcher in the 14th region IF he continues on the same pace as last year. I saw him catch several games last year and if he chooses baseball over football he can play in college somewhere.
  17. Ryan Howard from Leslie Co. will no doubt draw attention if they make it deep into the playoffs. He has the speed and quickness to play at a smaller D1 school. The games I saw him in he looked very good.
  18. I agree with you on Hendrix but maybe you can shed a little information on Morgan for me. People tell me that he doesn't have an off speed pitch and he trys to overpower players. It's very hard to throw the ball past a good hitter.
  19. I've had the privilege of seeing Hendrix play a few games. He is the real deal. What makes him so good is his speed and quickness. I seen him make some plays that others only wish they could make. When a kid comes from the short stop position and gets the ball on the other side of second base and throws the runner out, that's saying something. The game I saw he knocked the cover off. I talked to the leslie fans and they say he hardly ever strikes out. As for Muncie, I'm sure he is good but I can't imagine him being better than Hendrix.
