I have a friend who was an official in his younger day's he is retired because he has gotten to old and out of shape to run the floor. He admitted that he had instantaneously with a scream of walk from the coach who was standing close by blew his whistle and called a walk before thinking. He also knew others who got mad at fans and coaches and made a bad call or two to get even. Hey! these guy's are just human. They make mistake's like everyone else. Some are unintentional, some are otherwise. Life go's on.

According to Ferguson's dad, Ferguson already has one mid-major offer and I know he is going to Mississippi St. for an unofficial visit Febuary 2nd when they play Tennessee. I know this thread is for Seniors but someone had already mentioned a couple other juniors so I posted anyway.

I do know for sure that ref's can change games because they have been caught in the collegiate level and in the pro level and convicted!! They are human and to be human is to err and to say that no high school ref would intentionally make a call to decide the outcome of a game is to err also. To say there has never been a ref with that problem is being politically correct. To say that a ref has never got mad at a coach for cursing him(yes coach's curse ref's) and made a call against him is politically correct etc. etc. etc. You can say if you made this shot and that shot and didn't walkand so forth.....BUT you did do all those things that is a given, and with all the flaws being committed in the game you are down one with 10 second's left, your player Z drives in for a layup and gets absolutely hammered and ref doesn't make the call you miss the shot, ref altered the game. No system is perfect and there is bad and good in all walks of life. I can and have to live with that but I also am not going to deny that it happens because it does, and thats just a fact of life. Just my opinion:thumb:

Evidently you did not read the post of mine that you are responding to. It say's MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE LARGE PREDICTIONS against the team you don't support, but somehow seem irked by the predic's. WERE NOT FROM ELLIOTT. By the way, you did not answer my question's?

I am sure that the large margin of victory predictions in Favor of Elliott is what prompted your Olympic etc post's and the highlighted one above. I went to all the prediction posts and checked out the posters previous posts and done a pretty close assumation of whether they were Elliott or from elsewhere. I know practically all of the Elliott posters anyway. It is not 100% but it will be close. There were 20 people predicted a large margin of victory in favor of Elliott. Four were sure Elliott so I added three more to cover which makes seven. That leavesThirteen, by far the larger margin who were not Elliott and picked them anyway. Now a couple question's for you:irked: It seems evident you are a Rose Hill fan. If you were on a prediction thread making a prediction for Rose Hill and they were 17-1 and their margin of victory was 25-35 pts per game, You had never played the team you were predicting against, but that team had played a couple of the same teams you had beaten, and you won by a far larger margin, would you not predict your team to win by quite a margin? Does it really mean you don't how to handle success because you really, really love your team and players and support them 200%(if possible) and go a little overboard on a prediction, or jump right on someone whom you think could possibly be being a little negative towards them? I lied...I have three: If your team was on a roll and winning way more than ever before and were great kids, do you think it would be possible that you yourself might get a little or even a lot overzealous?

I can remember Elliott getting hammered by 30-40 not just in the O.J era but a little before that in my day. Rowan, East Carter, Russell, Ashland, Boyd, Breck, etc. all gave it to them. I also remember guys like Magrane, Pemberton, Daughtery,etc. still being in sometimes in the 4th. Whether it was to retain the lead, work on a special skill, or just for the coach's enjoyment, who cares. I don't remember anyone complaining or whining then. It doesn't take 2-3 minutes to score 20 -30 pts this day and time(dont believe it ask East Carter girls coach) and evaporate a 30 point lead. Elliott's sub's without a couple starters "cannot" hold the lead! Also when Elliott plays a really good team their starters are going to have to probably play the whole game if they want to compete or win. Why would you only have them used to playing 1/2 a game. My kid is a veteran b-ball player and he says that you can run everyday in practice and it doen't keep you in "game shape". Only playing will keep you game ready. Course I am sure everyone would like for Elliott players to only be used to playing 1/2 the game then when they get in a tight one and wasn't used to playing 3 1/2-4 quarters they would fail. I have posted a couple pretty good reason's that Coach Mays might be doing what he is doing but I know they will not be accepted because " seeing they shall not see, and reading they shall not understand".

They wont have to look ahead. They have already experienced years of getting whipped royally! This team hasn't been around long enough for everyone to forget the thrashings they had been accustomed too. I never heard one person from Elliott complain about anyone" running it up " then either.

Hammer, Go Radio, Shooterx3, you guys are wasting your typing finger's. You could have solid proof that Coach Mays has a legit reason for playing his starters most of the game, or that he is not intentionally running up the score, or that the second five couldn't hold the lead, or that blah blah blah blah, but it wouldn't matter. Some people cannot accept the fact that after years of being bottom tier Elliott is finally at the top. Only when Elliott lose the"big game" or this team move's on and they are the one's once again giving the 30-40 point thrashings only then will they be satisfied and you will never again hear a complaint of anyone running up the score. The little guy isn't supposed to win the race. Haven't you guy's figured that out yet.

The Rocky era was my time. I played against him and followed his career at Morehead. Not taking nothing away cause he was a tremendous player, but he didn't play much varsity as a frosh. He started as a sophomore and averaged around 15-16 pts. As a junior he averaged right at 20. As a senior he averaged I believe 23 might have been 24. 25 games(approx.) per season Do the Math.

I could get on the thread with the 5, 4, 3, thousand post and say Joe Salyer's had 5500 but that doesn't mean its true. You get my drift!

Agree with point also. If contact is after shot is released then foul on the floor.

Don't know what you think sideline coach's intent is. I don't know much about him/her or Bogeyman either as I have not been a member very long, and am not from the 62nd. I do however agree with both of them. I travel to every region and watch games all season. The 16th region referee's hardly ever make this call even when the player falls at their feet. In every other region I have watched it is called fairly consistent. Meaning there are probably a few missed in the other regions, but most of them are called. Sportsfan of Ky made the best point about it in another thread yesterday. If you are very high in the air and someone gives you even a small nudge or even blows on you, you will be off balance when you land resulting in the so called "flop" unless it is their own team then they are screaming foul. It definately should be called even with minimal contact. The ref can see whether there is contact or not.
