Score is posted on KHSAA. Anyone have any stats/details from the game?

Kidd, Turner, and Prater combine for a no hitter against South Floyd. Kidd was a little rusty on the mound giving up 7 walks early on and committing a throwing error which allowed the runs to score. Brock Kidd, Justin Jacobs, and Josh McKinney all went yard for the Rebs as well. McKinney drove in 6 on the night.

How did Wolfe win if Buckhorn was up 10-7. I don't understand what you are trying to say. You have posted that Buckhorn led 10-7, but your first sentence says Wolfe wins 7-6. Please explain what you mean.

While these three are traditionally tough, they may not be top 3 - especially Paintsville. They have to prove themselves to be deserving. I think Allen Central, Lawrence County, and Sheldon Clark can argue for a top spot as well. We'll be able to tell more as the season progresses however. Good luck to all!

With the redistricting my Mountain Top 10 will have to change for Pre-Season. I am only including the 13, 14, 15 regions. 1. Corbin -- went to state 2. Pikeville -- won region 3. Perry Central -- won region 3. Leslie County -- i think the best in the 14th this season 4. Lee County -- will contend with Leslie for region crown 5. Johnson Central -- young, but always tough 6. Allen Central -- senior loaded and tough 7. Sheldon Clark -- pitching will be biggest weakness but still good enough 8. Middlesboro -- young, but traditionally tough 8. Bell County -- had good season a year ago and look to improve 9. Powell County -- new coach and some returning talent 9. South Laurel -- traditionally tough, and will make noise in the 13th. 10. North Laurel -- Will be very good

No one knows who will be the top yet, because games haven't been played. 13th -- Corbin, Bell County, Rockcastle County, Clay County, Whitley Co., Middlesboro (These teams were good last year.) 14th -- Powell Co, Lee Co, Leslie Co, Perry Central, KCC, Hazard, Letcher Central 15th -- Pikeville, Johnson Central, Allen Central, Lawrence Co., Sheldon Clark, Paintsville (and the 12th if you want to include them) 12th -- South Laurel, North Laurel, Mercer Co, Southwestern, Pulaski, Danville, Russell, Boyle Co. (and the 16th if you wish) 16th -- Boyd County, East Carter, Ashland Blazer, Greenup Co, Rowan Co.

#1 Pikeville.... Arguably the best pitching staff in the 15th. Lost a lot in their lineup however. Returning Chase Huffman - top rated pitcher in the region. Well coached and great feeder program. The old saying goes "To be the best, you have to beat the best." Pikeville is the best until someone beats 'em. #2 Allen Central.... Arguably the second best pitching staff in the 15th. Return 7 starters from a season ago. Hungry for a 2nd region title in 5 years. Returning Freshman sensation from a season ago, Scott Little. Also senior signees, Justin Jacobs and Brock Kidd. Tyler Turner and Nick Music also prove to be factors in this season for the Rebels. #3 Johnson Central... Well coached. Lost a lot from a season ago, but still returning some good pitching. Fyffe and Blanton will definitely be factors. Coach Hall will have JC ready. They always good young players ready to step up. Great program. #4 Lawrence County... Great coach. New region. Good players. Looking to make an impact. The Bulldogs will. Lost a lot from a year ago, but just like all good programs they have some good young players. Watch out for LC! #5 Paintsville... At 5th place. New Coach this year (I think... lol.. never know about ol' Charlie... he was the great one.) Some good young players. Daniel Pugh returning. Will have some good pitching and will always be tough. #6 Sheldon Clark... Coach Mike Hall has some good players returning, but lost his ace in Kyle Horn. He always seems to have his team ready though. This year will be no different. #7 Prestonsburg/Betsy Layne... Both are about equal. BL won the regular season district, but will struggle this year. Return key players however and look to make an impact. P-burg has Hamilton and Rodebaugh. Good pitching can help a lot. Shelby Valley, Belfry, Pike Central, East Ridge will all make an impact as well. These teams are well coached, especially East Ridge under Kevin Justice. Look for these teams to pull some upsets. Magoffin County, Phelps are on the edge. Teams can go either way. Phelps has some good young players. Look for them to move up. Magoffin is in the toughest district possibly this side of the KY River. South Floyd... a league of their own right now... 3 wins last season and they lose their best pitcher. Not saying they will be bad... but they have their work cut out for them... I would like to see them do well.. and move up. GL Raiders!

I also think Lawrence will be strong and well coached, but so is JC, Paintsville, and SC. It is a toss up among those teams. I think AC - at the beginning - will be a step ahead though. They have a nice group of seniors who have started, played together, and succeeded for a few years. They have some good pitching as well. May not be above Pikeville, but definitely on the same level as Lawrence and the others. As for P-burg, they will be very good once again, but this is the P-burg team that AC beat 18-4 in the first round of the district. AC has returned nearly their entire starting lineup, and their entire pitching staff from the end of last season.

It is voted on by the coaches who are in the KHSBCA. Am I correct in this? So, if they vote for a guy to represent the 15th region, then either he is one of the top players in the region in his class, or the voting is no good. That would mean these coaches let politics play into their thinking and have lost their integrity.
