  1. I can easily think of two great running backs who are currently having a big impact at the D1 Level: Michael Bush (Male & Louisville) and Chris Barclay (Male & Wake Forest). :ylsuper:
  2. Thanks...that is a great input, AL!! :thumb: John Hardin reminds me a lot of the 1991 Clark County team the way they run their wing-t. The ball fakes are mind-boggling. We have one Vic Anderson, but they seem to have three of him.
  3. After reviewing all of these stats, plus given the fact that John Hardin has the home field advantage, it looks like my poor Tigers are in for a L-O-O-O-N-G night. It seems as if the only chance we have is if the Average Points Allowed stat is the only correct comparison. That way we have a chance to eek out a 2-point victory. :scared:  Hey BareRock, I'd love to trade this away "cake walk" against John Hardin for a home game against Boone County.
  4. Thanks Bert...that is a very interesting historical storyline. :thumb: The consternation over this was due mainly to the backroom approach taken which cunningly circumvented the approved review procedures. Thankfully, everything was resolved in the end to everyone's satisfaction.
  5. It seems like Henderson County's loss to Christian County has adversely affected your outlook on life. Hopefully, it's only like a 3-day flu, and you have basketball to look forward to. :scared: :scared:
  6. Although my team is not out of it, this post moves me to voice an opinion: 1A - Newport Central Catholic 2A - DeSales or Owensboro Catholic 3A - Lexington Catholic 4A - Saint Xavier Hmmm...what do all these schools have in common?
  7. I agree with this statement. Once again, Coach Redman's press defense has cost him severely. Not to take anything away from John Hardin, but there is no way that a team as talented as Male should score 47 points and lose, other than through a self-destructive defensive scheme.
  8. Congratulations to the Tigers on a hard fought victory tonight over a very talented Manual team. As I had noted earlier, having all their players back from injury tonight made a BIG difference for X. Although Vic Anderson, as expected, broke some great runs tonight, I thought the best was delivered by Mike Mattingly. After being totally engulfed in a sea of red players after a five-yard advance up the gut, Mike suddenly re-emerged like Superman sprinting the final 40 tards for the TD. The final score was a little misleading, as the Tiger subs gave up two poorly defended long pass plays to the Crimsons starters in the last three minutes of the contest. Now it is on to John Hardin to take on the conquerors of #2 Male. :ylsuper: THE TIGERTOWN EXPRESS ROOLS ON...GO TIGERS!! :ylsuper:
  9. Add Kevin Sansbury also to your list. Jeffries played against Manual last time, but he was just coming off injury and was very ineffective and penalty prone.
  10. Don't you think that L1 will be a living hades, while L2 and L3 will be cakewalks?
  11. Is there some contingency where if your principals and coaches feel you can't compete (Male & Manual) :scared: in 6A, you can be granted KFC clemency and dropped down to terrorize :madman: the 5A fiefdom?
  12. No offense (public/private split :fight: ) taken, good buddy. By the way, good luck against John Hardin! :thumb:
  13. Hopefully the boy and I will be meeting in Scottsdale this New Year's for ND in the Fiesta Bowl. I hate missing UofL in potentially the Gator Bowl, but my wife likes Arizona better than Florida. :thumb:
  14. Sorry, but I beg to differ. The St. Matthews/Poplar Level :jump: Coalition of TD/Ox wins by a TKO :fight: over the Bayou Kid.
  15. I've already looked into Ms. Cleo's crystal ball...X wins!!
  16. I referenced running backs, not wide receivers in my comment. Anderson has 19 scores on the ground and also has multiple scores via the pass. In addition, Mike Mattingly and Brent Curley are not chopped liver rushing the ball either. Moreover, you can't in all honestly say that people load the box more for Manual than they do for X, can you?
  17. I see a lot more improvement in the Tigers (especially in significant players returning from injury...and I mean a lot more than just Anderson) than I do the Crimsons, since their first meeting on 9/30. These are two VERY talented teams, and it is a REAL SHAME that they have to meet so early in the playoffs. :fire: I like my LAMBIKINS well done, TIGERS!! :fire:
  18. Flying off the handle like a GIANT CONDOR :jump: in search of a MOUSE, I question whether you have actually seen enough St. X., Male, and Manual games to voice such a learned opinion of running back merits. Vic Anderson, 117 carries, 1035 yards Doug Beaumont, 93 carries, 972 yards Tim Horton, 113 carries, 892 yards From looking at these stats, Anderson carried more of a load than either Beaumont or Horton, despite missing two games for injury. Then again, maybe I'm all wet, and you ventured away from Region 3 District 5 games on numerous occasons to view the much more competitive games which occur annually in Region 2 District 4. I can't say I would blame you for wanting to see better football.
  19. Does this mean that it is time now to chant "OUR HOUSE" rather than wait until after the game Friday? :fire:  :fire:
  20. If coaches do not consider how a player did against other teams as well as their own, it becomes a potential list of one-game wonders . Even though Vic Anderson did not play against Manual during the regular season and may be excluded by the Manual coaches for all-district, they may want to rethink their vote after the conclusion of this Friday's game. :fight: Looking at the total district the RB's should be: 1st team - Anderson (St. X.) & Beaumont (Male) 2nd team - Horton (Manual) & Brown (PRP) But this is just one observer's unbiased humble opinion.
  21. Lexington Catholic Christian County Russell Newport Bell County Trigg County Ashland Scott County Somerset Beechwood TB - 73
  22. There is nothing quite like a Lambikin dinner in Germantown on a Fall night. :thumb:
  23. I'm glad this thread has gotten back on the game itself, rather than being drug through the mud of the public/private hassle. I believe the Rams will see a major difference in the Tiger team that takes the field this Friday versus the one they faced on 9/30. With numerous injuries, especially to Anderson, Kramer, and Sandsbury, the Tigers played a very conservative game last time. With all these players healthy once again, the Tigers should be humming full tilt on both sides of the ball, posing a quantum leap in headaches for Coach Nichols. :ylsuper: GO TIGERS!! :ylsuper:
  24. When did you start hedging so much on your predictions? Have you become a flip-flopper?
