  1. Does the "BGP Deuce" have any elgibility left? Does he reside within our six state school boundry? Will he require dorm space? Can he run the 40 in 4.6 seconds or better electronically timed? Does he have the potential for adding to our National Merit Scholars list?
  2. Typical sour grapes from a landlocked pebble who's baseball, swimming, track, and tennis teams have no on-campus facilities. Please take your black cloud and rain on someone else's parade. To date this has been a win/win for St. X. and Germantown, and we look forward to a continued excellent relationship.
  3. I'm afraid you're right, XCard. You would think that after decades of watching the same Tiger offense, I would know better than to expect a drastic change. Nevertheless, I do think that we will see some things this season which are outside the box for the normal Tiger repertoire. :jump: :jump:
  4. How could an X-expert not know who Deuce is?  Deuce is Rolandan Finch, who was a SUPER RB for the Tigers 2nd-in-a row undefeated freshman team.
  5. CR, between Zoeller, Anderson, Finch, and Simmons (don't forget about Will), you will see a lot of movement all over the field. Drew Eckman will also provide a lot of ability as an RB. I can't remember when I've ever been more excited about backfield possibilities at X. If Coaches Glaser, Chitwood and Wagoner ever let their offensive imaginations go wild, this coming season would be the time to do it. In regards to Anderson vs. Finch, they have two very different running styles, so it is a tough comparison. Vic never ceases to amaze me with his speed, moves and ability to get extra yards after first contact. Nonetheless, I must admit that Deuce was the most impressive freshman back I have ever seen at St. X. since Dicky Lyons in the early 60's. Not many people mention his defensive ability, but Finch is also one of the better linebackers I have seen. The presence of Deuce will allow Vic to spend more time at QB, WR, and even DB this year, while still maintaining a quality RB load. Finch, Simmons, and Eckman will also be able to give Anderson the needed breaks when his asthema is acting up, without the offense stalling. By the way, I wanted to ask how your younger brother was doing. I was tremendously impressed with his defensive intensity, beginning when I saw him early last season against Scott Co. in a pre-season scrimmage. He did an excellent job all year, and hopefully some college recognized his future potental. :thumb:
  6. I have to agree with you PH. Bowling Green vs. St. X. should be another barnburner of an opener. From what I hear, the Purples are once again loaded for bear (hopefully, not for Tigers ), while the Xmen will be smaller and less experienced than last year's team, but should be much quicker. The matchup between Hibbitt and Anderson should be interesting. Have you written any early previews on the Purps? I look forward to seeing both you and your lovely wife again next August in the Hilltopper City. :thumb:
  7. In one single post, you have have managed to pay Joe Tronzo the highest of compliments by commending the ultra-high intensity of his play on the field, while at the same time demeaning him by associating him with the wee-weeds eminating from the St. Matthews landfill...1/2 :thumb: & 1/2 :irked:
  8. If Anderson and Beaumont were both seniors this year instead of juniors, I would be taking the same tact as MountainThunder took above in acknowledging the attributes of both Chaffin and Blume, and arguing against anyone who would place any other RB's above them on this team. Thankfully, I get to wait one whole year before my blood pressure rises.
  9. Having been diligently tutored at the TD School of Charm for years, what else should one expect? :fight:
  10. Touchy..touchy...touchy...had a bad day? There was no intent in my response to demean your intellect. I was merely trying to present a potential senario which occurs elsewhere. Try a seditive and have a nice day.
  11. Many players now, who have performed well in their high school academics, have enough credits to graduate from high school at the end of the 1st semester of their senior year. By doing this, they are able to enroll in college classes at the beginning of the 2nd semester. This serves a dual purpose. First it allows them to participate in spring practice at their college, which gives them a better chance to play in the following fall. Second, by accumulating credits in the spring, they can take less hours in the fall during their strenous season. Stewart, Aldridge, and West are three new signees at Notre Dame, and I know they have done this. Chris Burke was a very intelligent young man who also may have elected to do this. If so, in essence, he is now a college student and no longer eligible for high school participation.
  12. I definitely agree with you that the omission of Senn is a travesty, but I also wonder why Tim Dougherty, the kicker from St. X. was not included. This young man is a major weapon as a placekicker (D1 scholarship to Purdue), and is also a capable punter. A good kicking game can easily mean the difference between victory and defeat over a talented Tennessee team. As a coach seeking a high profile victory, I would want this weapon in my arsenal.
  13. I noticed that Aundre Henderson from that infamous school named MANUEL made the team. Where are the Ram boys? :irked:
  14. Since I helped get him into the Hall of Fame, the least he could do is support the Ox's Pit initiative.
  15. Actually, I've already dropped a bundle, and suggested that it be named Ox's Pit, but somehow I don't think that will be approved.
  16. I was, of course, referring to non-alcoholic brewskis, Rockmom.
  17. Yeah TD, the Tigers do have a basketball team ...one-point better than the pebbles, may I add..., but like many of their compatriots they suffer from the dreaded private school B-ball losing syndrome, due mainly to a lack of hops. Maybe a good, strong brewski diet of well-aged Billy Beer from the attic at Check's would provide the hops so vitally needed. What do you think? :jump:
  18. We did travel out in the state to play Bowling Green, Lexington Catholic, John Hardin, and Warren County last year and won all of them. I also think you could ask any of them about what a great following we brought also...their coffers were filled and their AD's were grinning. :ylsuper:
  19. To the best of my knowledge, Mike was serving as Director of Admissions for a number of years prior to Jay Frend assuming the position around 1999. When Jay left to take another job in 2003, Mike was reappointed to the position. The job opening had nothing to do with the football loss, but was based solely on Jay's decision to advance his career in another area. Coach Glaser has a very outgoing personality and a profound love and deep understanding of the attributes of St. X., academic, spiritual, and athletic. With his exuberant passion, he does a fabulous job in representing the Tigers. The man is much more than just a football coach. Back on the thread topic, I DO hope that everyone takes the time to view the Project X video that is linked above in post #3 by Old Corps. It tells a great story about where St. X. has been and where it is going....GO TIGERS!!
  20. The main purpose would be to provide a facility for beautiful young ladies (such as those often found in the TD entourage) with comfortable surroundings to refresh their makeup and re-style wind-blown hair. The powers-that-be at X may take exception to any attempt I would make to get a Bud-Lite dispenser installed in this lounge.
  21. The engineering specifications call for field turf in both the football and the baseball stadiums and natural grass for the soccer & lacrosse practice field. A lot of planning and money has been allocated to assure that the natural grass soccer & lacrosse practice field drains well and does not become a quagmire from overuse. It would cost in excess of an additional $500,000 to install field turf on this field, which unless you may have it lying around, is not available within the budget. In addition, as you noted earlier, the freshman football team will utilize the field-turfed baseball outfield for practice, since it will easily accommodate a football field. A lot of early work will be concentrated on the baseball field turf installaton to assure that the varsity, JV, and freshman teams have a practice area available for them by August of 2006. All three teams will have to share the practice area for this upcoming season. Excitement reigns supreme in Tigertown, and if all goes as planned, all the new facilities, with the exception of the new basketball arena (Phase 3 approval required), will debue for the teams' respective seasons in 2007. On a side note, the deletion of the now politically incorrect scoreboard (see clipper's post above) has allowed us to release these previously allocated funds for the installation of lavish dressing room and lounge facilities in the ladies restrooms, which will give us a MAJOR advantage over our competition. The Tigers are always thinking one step ahead.
  22. Obviously then you have never attended a St. X. game when they were the visiting team...although I will say the pebbles do qualify as #2 for crowd following within Kentucky. However, as others have already noted above, when you include the out of state border teams, Cincinnati Elder is in a class all by themselves.
  23. There are some posts about both boys and girls Bellvue games, as well as a comment on the 3-point thread, that are :madman: FALSELY :madman: posted as coming from Oxnard. Sorry...you're back to ground zero turkey...the password has been changed. Try getting a job at McDonald's...work for two hours and earn the $10 it costs for expressing your feeble thoughts on BGP instead of spending hours cracking the computer identity of others.
  24. Bellevue dominated the game, they Just fell apart when the Wight kid went out early in the third
  25. they shold move the line back to make it a challenge. that mchale kid from bellevue needs a harder challenge
